It is said that as a housewife you are the CEO of your home! Okay I don't know who said it but I am sure it was said. As the"lady of the house" I am the "maid, dry cleaner, cook, CFO, gardener, assistant, nanny, shopper, penny pincher, and well all around problem solver." I ROCK!
My friend once told me, my husband makes the money and I make sure that what he makes goes a long way. I don't spend his hard earned money with no thought or on things that we don't need. I really try to make good decisions on what I spend our money on.
Most of my jobs are very self explanatory, although I would like to elaborate on the "assistant." I find that when my husband is getting ready for work, is in the middle of a project, off on a business trip, or even in bed, I become the personal assistant! Hey Jen, do you know where my new shirt is? Jen will you grab me the duct tape? Jen look around on my desk, you will see a small blue piece of paper, on it there are two numbers I need the one that starts with... and last hey Jen will you bring me my phone when you put Charlee to bed, it is plugged in the wall charging (as he lays in bed with his lap top). I am the assistant!
Brian was home for around 4 days in a row last week and every day he would get up early for Helicopter lessons arriving home around 10 am. He would immediately start working on projects around the yard. Soon it would be lunch time and he would disappear, I have lunch "appointment" with Marci and Amanda today for Lee's retirement, he would say as he was driving away. The best was when he had lunch with a couple friends and talked airplanes the entire time. He told me, "Jen I have a business meeting." Oh where at, I asked him? "Spicy Lady, over lunch!"
I see, well if you can't beat them join them! Today was the official first "very important business meeting" of the SSHS! When Brian was an police officer and he couldn't inform me of things that were going on in his department, I (and his mother) would refer to it as the SSPS or Super Secret Police Stuff!
Today I met Rachel and Amanda at the Hub for our Super Secret Housewife Stuff meeting! It is the first of many I believe and I felt like a lot of issues were resolved!
Brian thanks for being a wonderful example and a hard working husband so I too can have business meetings!

I laughed hysterically at this, and could barely read it to my husband who- GOT UP AND WALKED AWAY! I think that it hit a little too close to home. Thanks for the idea, I am going to set up my own SSHS this week! You do ROCK!
