Oh the weather outside is...

Ever changing! We had around 52 hours of Fall and then ta-da SNOW! Just two nights ago we had one heck of a wind storm. Our pile of hay blew over and we lost a few large branches out of some of our trees. The old highschool didn't handle the wind very well and it ripped the roof off. As you drive by you notice this massive sheet of metal shooting skyward, the wind just peeled it right off.
I did light a fire in the fireplace Wednesday and have kept it going until today. I am still a little frustrated with our new wood stove. I can't seem to get new logs burning unless I leave the doors open a crack, and when I started the fire I had to leave the doors cracked for an hour before I could close them and keep the flame alive.
It just doesn't seem right that I can't open the damper and shut the doors as I add wood, without the fire going out. What do you think?
Last night our house did stay warmer. I remembered to use our ceiling fans and it seemed to warm all of the bedrooms too. The first night Charlee woke up several times as did I, very cold and it didn't seem to feel warm unless you were sitting right in front of the stove! I was up every hour so the fire did stay going all night long. This morning however, due to the house staying warm I found very few coals but had a peaceful nights rest with no interruptions.
No snow today with a high of 60, I sent the kids outside to play. They said they need their winter gloves, I mentioned that they are still in storage! Sounds like we need to unpack the winter clothing.

I can't believe you got snow! Maybe I don't want to move to Heber after all!
Hope you get your fireplace under control before the real cold hits. If I knew anything about it, I could give you some advice.
So, I have been reading your previous posts, and the cat thing cracked me up! I can't believe it just walked into your house, and turned on the tub. I really think you have a ghost!
Hope you are doing well. I know I have said it before, but we really need to get together soon. As soon as Rob gets a job, I'm planning on going shopping at Park City. Maybe we can get together then.
Take care, my friend.

Love ya!
