"Mama you need to be more careful"

Tuesday after soccer Brian called Mom and asked if we could come and visit! Upon arrival (we drove in separate cars) I was talking to Brian in the driveway asking if he still had a helicopter lesson. He said yes and that he was only going to stay a minute. Jack was to my side at this point and I was prompted not to shut my door "you are going to get Jack's finger." I told myself no, why would he be getting into the front seat as I bumped the door closed. Instantly Jack began to cry, I opened the door and blood was everywhere, his finger did not look like a finger and well I was a mess. Brian ran back from the door and scooped him up and took him inside to the sink, "nice first visit." Richard and mom had waited to have dinner until we left and here we had a screaming Jack and a frustrated Jen. Brian got Jack to settle down and gave him a band aid, Jack then turned to me and said "you should not have shut the door mama, you need to be more careful."Jacob and Aiden are now running around and around the house and Brian has gone to his helicopter lesson. I gather the children as fast as I can and load them into the car and leave so they could get back to dinner, a quiet dinner.

...And now I know where Richard and Mom live!
