I wish I would have played with them more!

As parents get older and the kids move out, the one thing you always hear is "I wish I would have played with them more, I wish I would have let the house go and just played with them!"

I think about this often, I let the house go, but do I really play with them!!! hee hee

Well today we decided to go outside and play soccer. Aiden and Jack each had a ball and we had a little practice. Two large rocks became goal posts and soon the boys were kicking goals past me! I had them dribble with the ball and then when I said stop they had to stop the ball with the part of their body that I said. I saw their soccer coach do this and they had so much fun I tried it at home. Head, elbow, right foot, left foot, knee, chin, toe, chest, and last SIT ON IT!
All good things must come to an end and soon I was back inside the house and left the boys to play. It wasn't long before the hitting and screaming began and I remembered why I play with them. They play so well together when I am involved, as soon as I step away it becomes a tag team crash down terminator III party!

Twilight movie "girls night" tonight... I just finished the first book in the twilight series and it was time for us girls to get together and watch it. Rachel, Jones, and Emmitt all came over for the event. I had made fresh salsa and we ate and visited for a bit and finally found our way into the bedroom! Yes that is right we had our pillows and all climbed onto my huge bed and watched twilight! It was fun, I was glad we were able to talk about the book and hear a little more information from Rachel who has read the other books! I am excited to start new moon, Rachel brought it over for me. Thanks Rachel...

I put the kids to bed early and Jacob said "why do you always get girls night and we don't get boys nights."
EVERY NIGHT IS BOYS NIGHT! Camp outs with camp fires, movie nights with popcorn, cartoons, play play play!

I let my house go too, but not a lot of playing... I should play more. Now that my time is so sparse, I have been better at "Making" time to play with the kids...
You are a great mom!
Twilight is awesome! No one to watch it with, but it's still good! :)
