Sunday, A day of Rest?

Sunday morning went about like a typical morning except I woke up feeling pretty good, very tired, but pretty good. I quickly got the kids up and got them some cereal. Jacob tested himself and I told him to dose himself and I was up in the shower. I had to make good time because I wanted to work more on my lesson. Nice hot shower felt so good that I stayed in a few minutes longer but forced myself out and dressed. I peeked out the window and noticed it had snowed yet again. Enough that I needed to shovel the driveway. I had Jacob and Aiden go get dressed encouraging them by telling them that Jacob could pick out the matching shirts and Aiden could pick out the matching ties. I then gathered books and pictures for display for my lesson, finished getting dressed, brushed my hair and teeth. I then went to see how the boys were doing. Well they are boys and they were still in their under ware. I helped them with tucking of shirts and buckling of belts. Aiden had issues with his socks (of coarse) and he was upset that he and Jacob were not wearing the same under ware. I then told Jacob to put together his scripture bag and he was very excited to take my old little red scriptures to church. I told Aiden to get his shoes on and I went outside to shovel the driveway. Mom (Suzanne) had called earlier and mentioned that she was going to be by around 10:25 or so to get a life jacket for her lesson. As I was shoveling I knew it was getting close to time when she pulled in the driveway. I finished what I could between the front door opening and little boys coming out complaining about other little boys hurting, not sharing, throwing, pushing, hitting, biting, and every other ...ing you can think of they were telling me about it. I finished up and put together a bag of things I needed for my lesson and diabetes things. Told the boys lets go, then realized I have boys and they still have not put their shoes on, put on 3 pair of shoes, grabbed the bags shuffled everyone into the car and drove to church.
At church we sat in the middle, not wise. I think Jack Jack made it to the stand twice, once I caught him before he headed to the pulpit the other time I missed. I stood up in church at least a half a dozen times. I had screaming children, going out and folded armed children coming in. Once I stood up in such a hurry I stood on the back of my long skirt and it pulled it down a ways so I gave all those behind me a good show. The boys were very good during the intermission song. Six little girls got up to sing a song and my boys loved listening to them. It was so cute to see them watch those cute girls and point out and say their names to meIn Sunday school I had numerous comments about my mothering techniques. I gentleman stated that Jack Jack was running out with his arms folded at least. After the concluding speaker Brother Cottle got up and said thank you to "all that participated" in the program and I swear he looked right at me and winked with a slight chuckle. Closing song came and I said "off" to Jacob and he took Jack Jack to nursery. Aiden followed and went to class so well, I was very pleased.
Anyway, long meeting I ended up with Jack Jack back with me because he had a runny nose and nursery didn't want him getting the other kids sick. I understand that I just didn't believe that he was sick and I was kind of stuck because It being the second Sunday of the month I taught relief Society. Jack Jack did really well, Heavenly Father blessed me that I would be ok with my lesson (no computer to type it up on and Print it out,) he blessed the sweet friends of mine who helped watch Jack Jack during my lesson. Mostly he blessed Jack Jack, he was so good and did a good job of being quiet while his mama taught the lesson.

I went visiting teaching today and my partner said that Jacob went up to her daughter in Primary and told her what a good job she did singing. I guess he told a couple girls that they sang "really pretty." They thought that was really sweet of Jacob.
He is so thoughtful, I can't believe he did that all on his own, PROUD MOM moment.

Sounds like a crazy Sunday! I used to have those when Lyn was on call on Sunday. I hated it! However it made me appreciate it more when he was there, and actually tell him. Also I'm amazed at all those Moms that go it alone every Sunday cause their husbands don't come, I could never do it, if it were every Sunday!

Good job mom. That is sweet about Jacob telling the girls what a good job they did and that they are pretty. Kelsey told me yesterday that Jacob kissed her on the head at school "because he is my friend." You have a romantic!!
So cute. Sorry Sunday was such a headache, I really am.
