Extreme Enrichment

I was talking to my friend Jenn yesterday and we discussed that we wanted to do more things. She said that the "young men are going to Soldier Hollow to the Biathlon Range, I want to do that." We then said that we should do all the things we always talk about doing. The recipe group, the kids and moms hiking group, etc...

So here we go with the Soldier Hollow activity for the Extreme Mom. This has been taken directly from the Soldier Hollow web site. It is not just a seasonal event, it is available all year long.

No experience is necessary.

Visitors have the choice of three programs called Bronze, Silver and Gold:

Bronze - Range instruction; ammunition and rifle use at Paralympic range (10 meters with air rifles) $19 for adults and $9 for youth (age 6-17) 1-hour session, reservations suggested

Silver - Range instruction; ammunition and rifle use at Paralympic range (10 meters with air rifles); Full day use of mountain bikes and helmets or ski equipment depending on the season); Fun team or individual relay competition $49 for adults and $29 for youth (age 6-17) 2-hour session, reservations suggested

Gold - Safety clinic; Range instruction; ammunition and rifle use at Olympic range (.22 caliber) Use of Olympic rifles; Full day use of mountain bikes and helmets or ski equipment depending on the season); Timed competition (team or individual); $119 for adults and $79 for youth (minimum age is 12); 2-hour session, reservations required.

Here is your Extreme Challenge, I want all you extreme mom's to give me some extreme ideas, then we will go and do them.

I was just thinking, with all the guns I have in my house, we could snow shoe to my house, take a shot with a rubber band gun at Brian, or even put on the kids velcro shields and have moving human targets, then take the scooter that is on skies to Jenn's house etc... you get the idea! This all being timed of course. With awards and Certificates. :) I really make myself laugh.

One of my Extreme ideas would be to do the ballroom class, Brian always told me (I am sure he lied) that he would take a class with me.

Sounds fun. I like the ballroom idea too. I'd be more interested in a country/swing class. Gary has said that he would do that with me too. We'll have to see if they (Brian and Gary) will put their money where thier mouth is!

I posted a comment last night and it didn't like it because I don't see it.
Here we go again, I was thinking that this whole extreme mom thing sounded good, but you will have to give me some time to think up something EXTREME to add to your list!

Rachel you are married to a vet, I am sure you could come up with something animal related!

Wendy you are in charge of finding out about a two stepping swing "dance" class.

I have wanted to take ballroom dancing for years now. When we lived in Santaquin I was so close to taking them at night at UVSC in Orem with Mark....then we moved up here. I am up for anything. I used to country/swing dance performing in a group for years when I was younger. My brother and I would go to the bars in KY (right before I was married) and we would leave our dates at the table and rip up the floor. I love dancing. My parents always taught group classes on country and line dancing growing up.

I'm all about guns! My Dad raised us girls to go shooting with him, but not until we were 12. It was a real treat....bonding time. How about sledding in a kiddie pool, lol. Mark can drag our sorry mother bum bums behind him. Actually, I want to go on a cruise and see Greece and Italy. Anybody want to come?

BTW-It's not just you, you make me laugh too!!!!!

Sounds like a blast! why don't y'all come live in the pre 1840's with me this summer. You can even bring the kids, and the husbands. It's not too extreme, but a lot of fun!

I have a pool, lets meet at Jonesy's house next Monday for family home evening!!!

You're so good to follow through with our conversation. I'm totally up for it. We've got all kinds of guns, from rubber band to assult rifles--probably don't want to go there) if we had a place to go shoot them. You know from our conversation that I want to do any/all of it; Soldier Hollow, recipe exchange, etc.

how about some skeet shooting? Rachel want to throw some skeet?

Jenn said...

Skeet shooting! I love it. Lets do it.

Rachel said...

I am a sweet skeet thrower, believe me! I learned the hard way, with my sister peeing her pants at me and my dad laughing so hard he was doubled over!
I thought of a moderately extreme motherhood event, pulling your kid plus a few more home from school on a sled.

OK GIRLS NEW POST IDEAS, DO THE EXTREME MOM PROJECTS AND TAKE PICTURES! WINNER GETS A RIDE IN THE HUSKY WITH MY HUNKY HUSBAND. Whatever level of extreme wanted!

Anonymous said...

GAME ON GIRLS....GAME ON...what's the husky?

Jenny said...

Amanda you make me giggle, shoulders up and down and up and down. The husky is the airplane, he can do nice rides or Rachel extreme throw up and out the side of the plane rides.

Jenny said...

Rachel, I think the plus a few more kids is the extreme part. As long as they make it home and you are not charged with kidnapping!

Ahhhhhh, the plane! Well, my reward will have to be something else. I have such a weak stomach and every time my Father-in-law flew us anywhere I would pull a "Rachel" and he mostly did all pleasant careful rides. Your going to just die, but I wouldn't let my kids fly in his small plane. They make me nervous. I think my FIL still holds it against me. He sold it recently knowing that me and my kids would never fly in it no matter what. I'm crazy about stuff like that and I know that it's safer in the air than on the road but I feel out of control!!! Anyway, maybe a pedicure:):):)
