All I hear is the Ocean

I believe that I am a pretty intelligent woman/mother. I have my weaknesses as we all do and I am ever striving to do better.
I do often forget that my husband and children are much the same as I am. They too are very smart and have weaknesses. I often think that in marriages the wife assumes that the husband knows how lucky she feels for the opportunity to stay home with the kids. I also think that the husband often forgets to express how much he appreciates the hard work that goes into being a mother/wife. With both of these assumptions, I also find that I often assume that Brian knows how grateful we are as a family that he works and supports us, (that just seems obvious.) It is very common for me to hear Brian feeling sad or lonesome while away from me(I hope) and the kids. I sometimes don't look into this sadness enough because for me I would think that room service, nice hotel (*****) hot tubs, different atmosphere would be nice for a job.
Well I guess what I am saying is that we as husbands and wives need to express out loud our appreciation for our spouses. I wouldn't think that I need to hear it, but I think everyone does. When we express our love and appreciation to anyone it is something that touches the heart.
Brian, I love you and am so glad that we are in this life and the next together with our sweet boys. I love an admire the patience you have with them and try to learn from your example. Having the priesthood in our home is so very important to me and I hope as the boys get older and understand it more, it will be as important to them. Thank you for having prayers with the boys while I was gone. Thank you for taking such good care of Aiden the other night, he loved being able to spend that one on one time with you and I appreciate the break. That was especially special because mom rarely have breaks when children are sick. Thank you for your patients in reading with Jacob, I want him to love it and want to continue to learn and when you spend time with him he does learn and want to do better. Thank you for Jack Jack, wow what to say about that. Thanks for taking him potty, for loving him and putting him to bed 6 or 7 times before you came up with that nifty devise for the door. HEE HEE
Thank you most of all for working, you do put in a lot of work hours and study hours to always stay ahead of the game with questions and information that Steve might request. You are very good and what you do and I hope you always are careful. I don't worry often about you because I know that you are a good man and strive to always make good decisions in flying and what ever else your occupation may have you do. I love you Brian with all my heart and always will, even if when I am talking to you "all you hear is the Ocean."

Jenn, you are so good to tell your husband how wonderful you think he is, but especially to record it here on the blog so he can read it anytime! I could write a great letter to Lyn on our blog, but would he ever see it? NO!

A very sweet reminder Jen. We very much assume that we as spouses know how much we appreciate eachother. Thanks, I am going to go show my appreciation to the man laying on the couch reading an Angus bull magazine, even if he does have sour cream and onion chip breath!!

He was faking it to avoid hearing the ocean!

Yes Heather, Brian already knows he is wonderful just ask him, but alas I guess he needs to hear it from me and his family and friends. He feels really bad that Rachel gives him such a hard time, he has a rough time keeping up with her and her driveway.
