I remember waking up in a very fuzzy room! I also remember thinking I am being really loud and other people are staring at me.... I have no idea when this happened, the next thing I remember I was in my room.
My Mother and Father were there and so was Brian. My Dad left soon after I came into the room back to Idaho. I remember them talking and Brian saying "Jen if you need me you can call me on my cell."
The next thing I remember I was all alone and wondering where and how Baby was. I couldn't get out of bed and I was feeling a bit scared so I called Brian. It didn't work, I tried three or four times. It seemed they were gone forever, they had gone to Jody's to get the kids but they were gone a couple hours. I did not see a nurse or anyone the whole time they were gone. I couldn't rest because I was nervous and really out of it trying to think. Then when they got back I had tons of visitors; Dad and Janis, My Aunt Shelia and cousin Tae and Corky, and finally in came my boys and my Mom and Brian.
My boys were only there a few min. before Aiden pee'd on the wall (missed the toilet) and he and Jacob pulled the emergency cord in the bathroom. When the nurses all showed up all out of breathe because I am clear at the other end of the hall and mentioned that if someone pulls that cord everyone comes a running. My mom decided that was enough time with baby and momma and she took our car and drove them home.
I remember laying there so out of it and just wanting to go to sleep and knowing that I looked half dead. My thoughts of how I looked were confirmed by Janis a couple days later when she came back and visited again saying "you look so much better than you did the first time I saw you."
I remember Tae leaning down and giving me a hug and she said "you look good" I think I said something like "lire." I am sure the conversation outside the room was completely different
because I did not look good I looked like I just had major surgery.
I lost a ton of blood and a nurse came in that evening to take my blood to get a blood count. I was 25% and the next time they took it I was 24%. They asked me if I felt dizzy, I said no and they said I still might need a transfusion if I began to have symptoms.
The symptoms of anemia can include headache, fatigue, weakness, difficulty in thinking.
Normal range is 40% to 52%
They told me that I would have another count taken and I didn't. U of U patient care is not the greatest! Our experience with the U was not a great one. Although I was told by two different outside doctors that I would have been transferred to the U if I had gone to St. Marks like originally planned.
Brian could tell I was anemic because I could not remember anything I was told. I am not exaggerating either, NOTHING. I was told something and it was gone, this is hard when you are trying to time how long you feed the baby. I would tell Brian the time because I couldn't remember. Doctors would talk numbers and give me information and I had to get Brian because I could not think.
I could not think at all, I am sure that is why I only remember half of this day! I do know that the last time I ate was around 6 pm on Monday the 30th of June and I had a V8. I was so thirsty and I didn't get to eat again until the 2nd. I remember I wasn't hungry like normal I was just thirsty so on the evening of the 2nd when they brought me my chicken broth, cranberry juice, jello and water I was so excited.
I also know that I didn't sleep Monday night or Tuesday night or Wednesday night. I remember watching the clock and thinking that the night would never end. Wednesday night I had been given some Ambien, it didn't work. They up'd the dose and told me Thursday they would give me two. By this time I was trying to feed Charlee and that was the only time she was able to be held so I declined the drugs so I could feed her. I do think I finally got a couple hours of sleep on Thursday.

I guess you don't remember talking to me on the phone that night Charlee was born then. Your words were nice and slurred and I think you fell asleep a few times, now i know you have no idea that we talked - difficulty in thinking!
rachel
Did we really talk or are you messing with me!
