All about flying bugs

"This is true, you can even ask Michael when you see him."

Story #1

My boys will believe anyone I guess. The story goes as follows, Charlee will act out the expressions for you. First Micheal found a cocoon a while back and he kept it in a cage. He came over and brought it for us to see because it had came out. He said it was a Monarch, it looked like an ugly moth but okay Monarch it is! The boys were fascinated with it and followed him outside.

Charlee thinks monarch butterflies are very interesting. I didn't hear much about it until last night when Aiden told me that Micheal's butterfly had bit Micheal.

Me: "Aiden butterflies don't bite."

Jacob and Aiden together: "yes they do."

Micheal got bit and he had to eat the butterflies poop with in a half of an hour or he would die.

Me: WHAT!

Charlee a bit freaked out about all of the sweet butterflies that are all over 90% of her outfits!

Yes he ate butterfly poop so he would not die.

No matter how hard I tried I could not convince them that one; the butterfly did not bite Micheal and two Micheal did not eat the butterflies poop.

Jacob: "yes sir mama just ask him when you see him."

Charlee is now a bit tired and is done with the story!

The best part was that today I had them tell the story to Daddy. They were still positive that these things happened to Micheal and that he was so lucky to be alive. They both ran downstairs so excited to tell Daddy.

Aiden: "Daddy, Micheal had a Monarch butterfly bite him."

Daddy: "Was it one of those big scary mean monster butterflies!"

Aiden and Jacob with puzzled looks on their face: "no it was a monarch butterfly and he had to eat it's poop within a half hour or he would die."

Daddy: "Boys I think someone is fooling with you."

Later I asked Brian if the boys still thought that Micheal got bit by a butterfly, he said I don't know and he called the boys into the room.

Daddy: "Boys do you still think that Micheal got bit by a butterfly?"

Boys: silence... then a few giggles

Daddy: "Do you really think that Micheal had to eat butterfly poop to survive a furious butterfly bite?"

Story #2

Yesterday I was holding Charlee and just getting up to let Jacob hold her. She made this buzzing noise and Aiden said "mama she sounds like Evenrude!"

Evenrude is a Dragonfly on the Disney movie "The Rescuers" and she did sound exactly like Evenrude. I told the boys that could be her nick name, Daddy loves Evenrude motors and I am sure he would approve!

My new nickname for her is "Chuck" or I guess you could say "up Chuck!"

Story #3

After picking up Brian from the Airport we went to pick up the Avalanche at the Heber Airport and Brian pointed out this huge Helicopter at the end of the taxi way.

The boys and I drove down and took a few pictures then daddy came down and we were able to visit with the crew and pilot! It holds 2500 gallons of Water and that hose "trunk" sucks it up right out of the river! It was amazing to see something that huge. The crew was so nice and even gave the boys some stickers.
We decided that it looked like a pregnant Dragonfly! The boys asked me what the hose was and I was explaining it to them when one of the crew came over. I said it is like a elephant trunk and the crew guys at the same time said it was a hose. He turned to me and said he liked my explanation better. I did too!

NOTE: Jacob and Aiden have been collecting grasshoppers and they have them in a bug container! We stopped and visited Kelsey today and she had a grasshopper collection too. She took Aiden into the garage to show him and when I went to get them, she mentioned that it was so cool because she let her grasshoppers out into the garage! I guess the ones in the cage are not so bad! It was a good thing that the grasshoppers didn't bite them, or they might have to eat grasshopper poop!

I especially love the story about Michael's butterfly poop. I'm sort of excited to dream up my own story to tell them! Hmmm, what will it be about???!!!!
