Happy Birthday Aiden

Aiden's Birthday on the 17th was suppose to be full of ongoing birthday traditions. One being a special birthday breakfast and out to lunch then a special birthday dinner. Aiden doesn't eat. So anything he eats is special.
List of Birthday Traditions
1. Ask child what they want to eat for their special meals?
Hopefully this will get better as he gets older and likes food.
2. Presents are not open until after dinner.
Boys are really good about this one and don't really care, I am afraid this will get harder as they get older.

3.Cake and Ice Cream after presents. Birthday boy gets to pick the kind of Cake he wants.
This year it was a Transformer cake. I cheated and got a 1/2 off cake from Days and stuck some transformers on it. But we had loaded banana splits with bubble gum ice cream.

4. The night before the birthday I decorate their room with Balloons and streamers.
In July and April this seemed to be easier. Poor Aiden, the streamers were out ready but never made it out of the packages, the balloons had all been used this summer on the trampoline for water fights and I didn't realize we were out.

5. Heavy Heavy Hang over with the presents bonking the child on the head.
Skipped this FORGOT!

6. Picture of everyone holding all the gifts Birthday boy received up in the Air.
Jim, Poloncic (aka Holly), Rebekah, Megan, Katie, Micheal, (Jones) Mark, Amanda, Thomas, William, Lydia, (Longs) Papa, Mamos, Brian, Jenny, Jacob, Aiden (aka birthday boy), and Jack.

I often feel like I always have these huge plans and then forget things. I guess I am teaching my boys to accept disappointment. There are no tears no complaints. Hopefully the traditions will become stronger as the kids get older.

What are some of your Birthday Traditions????

you are an amazing mother to give such a fabulous gift!

Birthday traditions:
Let's see here..........
streamers and balloons the night before while they are asleep so they wake up to a great surprise

homemade cakc, whatever style I am in the mood to make

choice of dinner, in moderation of course and will a little of my help deciding what that should be since I can not eat mac and cheese only for dinner

usually open presents in the early morn, 6:00 am because Matt can not handle the suspense all day, even for the children

that is about it, their first birthday is special, they get their own cake and wear only a diaper while eating it

HAPPY HAPPY B-DAY Aiden. Thanks for the fun night. Our traditions are identical to yours. We get to have our left over b-day cake the next morning for breakfast. I remember that always being a big treat.

They get to decide on dinner, sometimes get to eat out. Friend b-day parties for 5,8,12,16,18 years old. Mom makes special cake every year. Oh you don't have to do your chores on our birthday!
