Kindergarten Shots!

Kindergarten is coming up for Aiden. I took him in today to have his Kindergarten shots and to check about his head aches. He promised me he would be brave because after all, "the flu shot doesn't hurt." At Aiden's last doctor visit he had a flu shot and it was like we were amputating a limb. He FREAKED out. When the shot was all over he said, "oh flu shots don't hurt!"

Today's visit was a 5 shot visit! The last shot being the MMR which has a nice burning sensation in addition to the poke. Luckily they do the shots last, right before your darling child home. He did awesome.

With the Kindergarten appointment comes a lot of questions. Aiden had to identify and draw a square, circle, rectangle, diamond, and triangle. He had to tell Dr. Dave which line was longer, and again which line was shorter. He then had to draw a person and write his name. He was perfect! When he drew the person he drew a box around them. Dr. Dave asked him what the box was and he said it was the picture. Dr. Dave seemed confused so Aiden explained, "you said to draw a picture of a person, the box around the person is the picture part."

The next questions are always scary... "What do you hold when you cross the street? Do you always wear a seat belt? What if there is not enough seat belts? What about strangers... Private parts...and last what do you wear when you ride your bike, scooter, horse, and roller blades?

The only answer with a bit of hesitation was when Dr. Dave suggested that if there were not enough seat belts and the mom that was picking them up said to buckle two kids in one belt, he knew not to go if there wasn't enough seat belts but he thought that suggestion of Dr. Dave's was okay. No Dr. Dave said, "we tell them that my mom said to call if there were not enough seat belts and she will come pick me up!"

He did good! I could just hear him say "what about the first gear rule?" This is Brian's rule! You will have to ask Brian about this rule.
His legs are really sore, it hurts to walk, so I made him walk home from school. You know to keep him humble.

About the migraine headaches, we are to keep a accurate food and activity journal when he has another one! I guess 95% of migraine headaches are triggered by certain foods.
