Well today I admit was a very hard day for me. My heart was broken last night. You know, sometimes it is not any one's fault, it is just life. Yet it hurt and I am a bit broken today still. Disappointment comes and goes, but when your heart is broken it doesn't go away very easily. I am glad to have good friends and family that love me and I KNOW THAT THEY DO!
Anyway back to Brown Rice. I had a friend come over today to help me try to get on a exercise program and a better diet. She is very health conscious and we were discussing food items along with other things. She mentioned brown rice, whole grain, pasta's, fish, etc... I thought of my other Blog "weigh" back to basics. I remembered how I was planning on going back to the basics! It was my "way" back to basics with myself, my family, our eating, and our activities! ANYWAY.
Tonight for dinner I made some "Brown Rice." Well Brown rice of sorts. I had about 4 -5 cups of white rice left over from yesterday's orange chicken with veggies. I was too sick to eat yesterday which made for extra leftovers. I had planned on, at some point, making some fried rice with the excess rice that I had made.
I actually had planned to make some chicken tonight but the day crept up on me and it was dinner time before I knew it. SO I decided to make "brown" ham fried rice and this is how I did it.
4-5 cups white rice
Veggies
Eggs
2 TBS yoshida's gourmet sauce
2 TBS Soy sauce...
These last two ingredients made the rice very "Brown." Hee Hee
I do have Brown rice in my pantry but I didn't want to waste all that rice that I had made the other day. So instead I scrambled 3 eggs and added a huge bag of mixed veggies to it with some sliced ham.
I do know it is not real "brown rice" and I am really trying to eat better so I did limit myself to 1/2 cup of ham fried rice. I just thought it was funny when I saw that it was Brown in color. I don't know that Kimba will read this but I hope she understands the humor in it. Thanks for the cooking tips Kimba. Here's to a Healthier Brian Rowser Family! Well and since Brian is so nice to the widow's they received a bunch of Ham Fried "brown" rice tonight!
From now on I will take Kimba's suggestion and do half brown and half white for my family until they get use to Brown rice. I don't know that I will ever have to do that, because my kids don't even like white rice. They mostly picked out the veggies and eggs!
Side Note: Charlee really needs to go to bed before 11:45 at night!

I hope you're feeling better, I kind of understand those days.
You know I love "brown" rice!
I hope you are doing better. I should give you a call. If you need any help on the healthy stuff, let me know. I'm not great but I would love to do what I can.
