This morning Brian came in and got ready for work. I don't know the reason behind men and not being quiet in the mornings. But somehow the lights seem brighter, the medicine cabinet shuts louder, the dressers pulls clink longer, and then there is the kitchen noise, you get the idea. Often after Brian gets in the shower I get up and remove the clothes that he laid on my feet before he went in the bathroom and I shut the kids door.
Shutting the kids door is a preventative measure on my part, trying to keep the kids asleep for as long as possible. I find that in the morning I can turn on less lights, open less noisy drawers, keep things off the bed including myself somehow I manage to put my socks on without sitting on my spouses feet.
Don't take this the wrong way, I do appreciate that he doesn't expect me to get up with him and make him breakfast. He gets his own cereal. He could be a lot worse.
He did kiss me goodbye. Very rarely does he do that. So often I am more embarrassed of my breath or the way I might look in the morning and so I don't expect a kiss from him. It was nice. I felt like, "you know what, I have morning breath, my hair is all over the place, but it was a wonderful feeling to know that he wanted to kiss me anyway." I would never ask him too or try to kiss him goodbye because of the way I feel about myself before I get in the shower. BUT what a nice nice feeling that was to have him care enough to walk over and kiss me goodbye.
There is a saying that I have seen around. I have seen it on boards and also just put directly on the wall. I have wanted it for a couple years now, it says....
Always Kiss Me Goodnight!
That is right ALWAYS! I always want my kids and Brian to kiss me goodnight. I don't care if I am in a bad mood, I am overweight, or I am the nicest mom on the block.... Always kiss me goodnight. We all hold hands at night for our family prayer and after prayer, the boys give out kisses and hugs! I LOVE THAT!

I want one of those signs too. I love that saying (and that action!).
I'll pick up the slack whenever Brian's out of town and Kiss you goodnight. Just give me a call, lol. In our first year of marriage Mark used to say, "I didn't want to wake you up, so I just left for work". He eventually got the hint that I was more hurt and offended if he didn’t kiss me goodbye then if he just leaned over and gave me a smooch. I too love those kisses from the hubby and kids. Thomas still leans up to kiss me goodbye when I drop him off in classroom. It will be a sad day when he decides it's not cool.
That is one thing Brad always makes sure to do is kiss me goodbye, good morning, when he leaves long before I get up. Although he is really quiet in the morning trying to get ready and I rarely hear him.
I absolutely love this saying and have wanted to put it up in the girls room. I hadn't even thought of putting it in my own room, but I might have to!
I was totally cracking up reading that! I completely agree the lights are brighter and the doors open and shut MUCH louder when Darryl gets ready than when I'm the one awake. Funny funny-- but a super sweet ending.
MAtt is like a bull in a china closet in the mornings. It is a miracle we don't wake up the neighbors!
