Growing up with my own family, we celebrated holidays and special days but if for some reason we were unable to celebrate the holiday on the official day, it was no big deal. I am grateful for this due to the fact that I married a cop who worked every Christmas and then he retired and became a pilot who flies for a private family who of coarse enjoys flying on holidays. Why wouldn't they, they have places to go and things to do and Brian is the one man who can get them there fast and safe. I am not being sarcastic, it is okay. Don't take this the wrong way, I am not saying that I enjoy Brian being gone, lets say for instance on Valentines, but I do know that it is just another day and he will make up for it when he gets home. He loves me and our kids so much and he is sad sitting in his hotel in Montana, wishing he could have come home tonight and went to dinner with me/Rachel and read Hardy Boys to the "boys." I appreciate the sacrifice he often makes to come home when it would be so much easier just to stay away from home. I don't know if I would spend the long hours in the airplane or airports just to turn around and go back a few hours later.
Last week Brian made reservations at the Claim Jumper Restaurant for 8. Amanda invited a couple and I invited a couple to come eat with us. The Bosshardts were able to come but the S... (don't know their names) were not.
When I picked up Brian from the Heber Airport last night he said, "I need to fly for Steve tomorrow (Valentines) and I will not be home." I was pretty bummed, I think he was too, he really does like to go out with friends. He tried all night to figure out how to clear customs and get home in time for our reservations. He thought maybe he could pull it off and went back and forth with calls to me on Valentines saying nope and still no, and I was on my way home and then.... He got to Montana past customs and got a call from Steve that he would be flying again on Sunday morning. So he decided to stay in Montana.
When I found out that Brian couldn't come I called Rachel and asked her if she wanted to go with me. She said YES and it was a date. They had celebrated Kelseys birthday today and Matt was nice enough to let Rachel come with me so I wouldn't be alone.
I started getting ready around 5. I tried to figure out what I was going to wear and picked out a green shirt/sweater that I really like. I noticed that I should have turned it inside out before I washed it the last time because it was now covered in fuzzies. So part of getting ready included shaving my shirt, so out came the razor. AND Yes it looks much better.
I also put on make up and Aiden kept saying "mom you look funny. Jacob -- Jacob, come here and look at Momma she looks funny." Then 30 min. would go by and he would look at me again and he again would say, "mom you look funny."Right before I left I asked them again and they said , No you don't look funny. Aiden said the lipstick didn't look so funny anymore, I guess now it was a titch faded. Jacob told me, "I didn't think you looked funny, just Aiden, I think you look beautiful." Then Jacob took our picture!

It took me longer to get ready because I also had to spend about 10 minutes plucking out my natural gray highlights!
Side Note: Jacob went to bed tonight with a puke bucket! He has not felt 100% all day long. He says he feels fine but he doesn't want to eat because his stomach hurts. He also told me that he didn't want to carry Charlee because he said it made his stomach hurt. His numbers have been actually pretty good. No Keytones???? I don't get it. But when I came home tonight the babysitter said that he wanted a puke bucket in his bed. Does anyone have an extra gallon ice-cream bucket! If you do let me know!

I've got one you can have! Dinner was great-- even if Valentines isn't for us married folk it was a great night anyway.
you look so pretty in those picutes!
You are one HOT SEXY Momma! You're beautiful naturally but you can spice and sex it up even more when you want. Good thing you took pics so Brains can drull over them anytime he wants. Thanks for the sweater tip. I needed that!
Thanks for being my date Jen, I told Dick Nichols about our date and he said he would have been both of our dates! He really would have too!
Brad was home for valentines, but we ate quesedillas. Romantic, eh? But that is so cute about the boys and the make-up. If I put on lipstick it would throw them for a loop too. I think you look great!
I have a extra bucket you can have too! I love that color green on you. How are the mountains coming?
