June Camping

Friday morning I got up and tried to get my camping stuff together. Four or so weeks away from having a baby, no big deal, I will climb up onto the garage shelves and pull down our sleeping bags, and camping chairs etc... Then as I got out the step stool I decided that the A/C workers would be a great help getting all my camping gear down. So a nice kid got everything down and I started to pack.
It took me a lot longer than I thought, Sorry to those who had to help and wait for me. I mentioned that we love to camp at Dock Flat and I thought that would be a close not so cold place to go. So we all headed out with me leading the way! I was glad that I found the spot because I am not the most reliable when it comes to directions.
Lets just say that they way I am facing is North! No matter what, right is East and Left is West, you get the idea. I am getting better.
We, okay Rachel and Mark set up my tent and I unpacked everything. Realizing how cold it is and that it was only getting colder I decided to not stay and I drove home around 10PM when everyone went to bed. I was so glad, to be home in my warm bed. I had a bad night and ended up with a heating pad or in the tub most of the night. The rest of the night was spent rubbing vicks on Jack Jack and giving him cough medicine, directing a very tired Aiden towards a toilet and not letting him go into any corners.
I was even more thankful when we woke up early, and packed warm clothes then went downstairs to leave and looked outside! I could see it had rained and with the clouds as low as they were I figured it must have snowed a bit too. We waited and around 10 am or so I got a call from Rachel saying that they were coming down for a few hours then going back up. I told the boys that we would wait until Daddy got home and Jack could take a nap, then we would go back up.

This is all of us, the Crane's, Jones's, and some really odd looking woman with Brian and Jacob. I loved this picture, Brian looks like a giant. Kelsey took these pictures and in one of them she cut off Brian's head. I don't think he is that much taller it must have been where he was standing or something. We had a fire going most of the day and we huddled around it while the kids were off playing.
Some of the highlights for us were,
#10 Packing all the stuff up to go camping and never staying the night.
#9 Cranes circus tent with chimney
#8 Amanda trying to pee on the fire when we left to put it out. Going on Nature walks and seeing TP under rocks everywhere! Jack Jack was so proud "Jacob I poop in a hole, come see!"
#7 Amanda keeping all the kids in the trailer while the adults ate licorice
#6 Amanda and Mark taking the boys for four wheeler rides, and Matt taking the boys out cutting up wood.
#5 Jack Jack is known as not exactly a calm child and often retaliates before anything else. I am not sure what happened but Jack started walking to me crying. I see little miss Lydia standing there in her cute little pink zip up jammies and sucking on her Binky. She had a little bit of a arm swing and foot kicking the dust up just a bit, looking very innocent.
As Jack gets closer I see why he is crying, he has a big scratch starting at his hair line and ending around his chin. I couldn't believe that Lydia was still standing, I guess she shocked him.
Another Great Story; #4
Me: Aiden is walking towards me holding his pee. "Aiden, Do you have to go pee."
Aiden: "no my pee hurts."
Me: "what happened?"
Aiden: "Kelsey kicked me"
Rachel: "KELSEY"
Rachel spoke to Kelsey, I guess he was following her around calling her a baby and she didn't like it. Later on Kelsey said, "I am playing with my best friends." We asked her who her best friend was, she said "Aiden." They all played and danced really well together.

#3 Amanda Jones packed 10 bags of Marshmallows. She also bought some wood for us, so Matt had to tease her about that... She still had wood and Matt had to go and buy a saw so they didn't all freeze the next night.

#2 We ate our dinners together and for Saturday dinner we had Navajo Taco's. I had Brian cut up the olives and while he was doing that Amanda was in cutting up stuff for a salad. Amanda cut up Avocado, it was the hit of the camping trip and was considered a prize. After it was brought out, I was able to get a couple pieces as did a few other people before the wind picked up and off it went into the dirt. (The wind was always blowing) I think Rachel and I both gasped at the same time. Soooo SAD! The really funny part was when Amanda was done cutting it up I guess she had it all over. She asked Brian to get her a paper towel, he would not let Amanda clean off her hands after she was done cutting up the Avocado. He instead went and grabbed the salt, salted Amanda's hands and told her "you don't waste Avocado."

#1 Chopping wood! Brian brought up the Ax on Saturday and he and Rachel split wood. He also showed Amanda how to swing an ax which scared me half to death. Amanda started calling him "Brawny man!" Matt mentioned that this camping trip was more like a fall Elk hunt kind of trip, too cold! I think everyone did spend a good deal of time gathering firewood and standing close to the fire. Entertaining Rowser's, Jones, and Cranes, only takes a hatchet, ax, saw, bow and arrows, a BB gun, and a couple four wheelers.

What a stinkin' freakin' good time. I am all ready to do it again. Yes, Jenny you were the wise one to head down the mountain while we all FROOOOOZE!!! Just glad the camping trip didn't put you into labor. I will keep in mind to bring 10 quacamolies instead of 10 bags of marshmallows for everyone to eat. Much more healthier and delicious!

I can't believe all that snow! How crazy. That's funny about the 10 bags of marshmallows. I could eat 10 bags of marshmallows on my own when I am camping. Nothing tastes better! Glad you had fun despite the weather.

It was a super time Jen, sorry about little Aiden and that Kelsey kick! We had a talk with her about that - "when someone is stealing you or hurting you for real, then you can kick them there honey."

I love your 10 highlights, but that is NOT a circus tent! Circus tents are round, not rectangle. I won't even tell Matt you said that about his beloved canvas tent.

And truly, we didn't freeze. Both night Matt didn't even get into his sleeping bag. I couldn't tell you that up there because it would seem so unfair.

Circus tent was not suppose to be a insult. Okay a very large nice and warm canvas tent with Chimney! SORRY.
I was very jealous of your nice warm tent!
