Brian's Book of Memories

A while back I got an idea to start a book of stories for Brian. I asked his brothers and parents if they would write some memories/stories of Brian growing up down and email them to me so I could put them into a binder and give it to him for his Birthday.
I plan on adding to it often and hope that I receive more stories! This is one that B.J. sent me, thanks B.J.
I will have to send out another reminder and ask for my favor again. I am hoping to get some other friends and family to add to the list of stories as well.
I think our family will treasure this forever and I hope that it grows with our family.

Hey,
I think everyone knows this story already, but: This one dates back to the days when Brian was driving his late '80's Toyota 4Runner. He had put some larger tires on it which gave it some additional ground clearance. I was following him home (to the Valley Hills house) in the red Colt, and he was probably 2 minutes ahead of me. When I arrived and pulled into the driveway I noticed Brian walking around in the garage. I didn't see his 4Runner, though, and as I climbed out of the car I asked him where he'd parked it. He was confused, because he had, not 2 minutes before, parked the 4Runner just to the west side of the house on the concrete pad where it should have been in plain sight. This prompted him to walk out of the garage and, to his amazement, realized that his 4Runner was no longer where he had parked it 2 minutes ago!If you remember, on the west side of the Valley Hills house was the concrete pad, and then a 3 foot concrete retaining wall dropping down to the small road that led to the barns behind the house. On the other side of that road was the wooden fence surrounding the neighbor's back yard.As Brian and I looked around a bit, we noticed that a 6-foot section of the neighbor's fence (I think the Carr's were living there at the time) had been pushed down flat into their yard, and there sat Brian's 4Runner in the middle of the neighbor's back yard next to their trampoline! After a quick damage assessment, we found that the 4Runner had rolled off the retaining wall at an angle and had somehow not even scraped the concrete. Further, it had pushed down the neighbor's fence just between two of the fence posts. At the angle that the 4Runner went through the fence, we found that there was only an inch or two of clearance between both rear-view mirrors and the fence posts it had rolled between. We backed the 4Runner out of their backyard and it only took a few nails to get the fence put back in place. If only they put something in vehicles to keep them from rolling when no-one is inside...`
