We're going to the Zoo

Last Friday my sister in law Jody called me up and asked if I would like to go to the zoo with her. I asked Brian if he could get Jacob to school and I with Jack and Aiden got ready and headed down to the Zoo. I didn't realize that it would be a big day at the zoo, but I guess because of leap year they had a big to do about something, not sure but as we left it was getting pretty crowded.
Aiden and Ethan (cousin) loved their maps. They looked at it to tell us what we were going to see next, they loved them. Aiden was pretty good, Jack Jack was wild but pretty good too.

Here is Ethan and Aiden with the Giraffes.

This tiger was amazing, he would pace back and forth, he was very big and very scary! We ate at a little cafe here and had some Chinese food and other treats that I had brought from home.

I loved this picture of the boys, really need to crop the lady out of it. Oops

This white alligator was pretty amazing, it being pure white it seemed to be a bit fairy tale ish. I think he was looking at Jack and Rebekah and thinking sweet and salty!

At the first of the zoo they have a small play area for the kids and the boys loved getting onto a slide. All slides around here still have 1 foot of snow on them. They did get a bit wet, but it was such a nice day they didn't seem to mind or whine to me about it.

Jack Jack must have climbed those stairs to go down the snake slide a dozen or more times. He always was nice to give the little kids in line a good push if they were a bit apprehensive about going down. Then again at the bottom another shove to get them out of the slide and over to their freaked out mothers.

The Zebras were pretty active. The kids were all saying fight fight fight, because the one Zebras was biting at the other and would not leave it alone. In a crowd of women and children a 'lone' man/daddy/husband said "well they are trying to mate." He got a few glares and a couple giggles as we realized that they weren't fighting, they were "fighting!"

Thanks Jody for the invite. We had a blast, you picked a great day... And thanks to Brian for taking the kids most of the weekend. You are the BEST!

This is Aiden saying "what are they doing?" Pretty cool picture!

Sounds fun. It looks like this is a great time to go...I always get the day when the animals are tired or hiding!

Jen, there is NOTHING fairytale-ish about an aligator or a croc or whatever that is!! I am thinking unicorns, pretty peacocks, nice, fluffy fairy tale animals, not a human eating one!!

I love Aiden's look of what is going on here, that is so great.
