I was glad that Brian wasn't around because he only knows the original 8 colors in the basic crayola crayon package. If it doesn't fall into those eight color/names it isn't a color.
Example; Brian came upstairs the other day with a rust colored shirt held up to some light beige pants and said,
"Jen, does red and white go together?"
I looked for anything around us that was red or white and replied,
"are you referring to your Rust shirt and cream pants?"
He told me,
"Rust is not a color, tell me what color this shirt is and you can only name the colors in the crayon package. I am not referring to the 108 crayon package, but the basic set of 8."
I responded with, "yes, your Rust/Red shirt matches with your light beige/White pants."
Check out those egg's, I see at least 3 different greens, two oranges, a red, pink, yellow, indigo (wait I mean a purplish/blue) no I guess in Brian's book we have the basic green, yellow, orange, red, purple, and blue.
SIDE NOTE: I forgot to mention that Brian's response to Rust color was, and I quote.
"Rust is formed when metal is exposed to air and moisture, it is the 'red' or 'orange' coating that forms on the surface of Metal caused by oxidation."
NICE, now you ask Aiden what is Rust? He says, (wanting to get daddy to tickle, play, or grab him,) "it is a color!"
Jacob however says, "rust is an oxidation process that happens to metal when left out in the sun and rain."

Love the colors! We had 1 regular pack and 1 neon pack too. It was lots of fun. The only rule Lyn has is black and blue match everything! No matter if it's teal blue and gray it still matches.
Ha ha, the rust/oxidation process description is great. I remember when using a white crayon to make designs on colored eggs felt so high-tech and ingeneous. I'm getting old, eh?
Okay...I had to laugh when he called his beige pants white. At least call them tan or is that not a color either?
I totally agree Krista, and again chuckled at my Husband when you mentioned the tan. NO the eight colors would be black, white, green, blue, red, yellow, orange, and purple.
Smirking cat, I remember spending hours holding my egg half in one color and half in another color just for some variety.
