Strep/Antibiotic

I had quilt guild last night and I also had a 2 year old with Strep! Bummer.

Jacob was so Great he was coming up with all sorts of ideas on how I could still go.

Jacob- "We can watch a movie in the car and when it is done we can come in and run around."

"We can go to Amanda's (who was going to watch the kids) and you can leave Jack at home, just put on a really long movie."

"We can get a babysitter and not tell her that Jack Jack is sick."
They were so disappointed they didn't get to go to Amanda's but I did work out a plan. I got them all feed and ready for bed by 7:15, Jack asleep by 7:30 and then told the boys they could watch a movie. I called Suzanne and asked if she would come over, with instructions that I had locked Jack Jack in his room and I was only a couple blocks away if he woke up, she could call me. He never woke up and when I got home Jacob and Grams were reading stories! Thanks Suzanne, I worked really hard to get all my quilt stuff done and was pretty disappointed that I could not go. Thanks

The picture above is of Kelsey holding my Friendship block, I will end up with 6 of these blocks and am going to make a bear in the woods quilt. Thanks Rachel it is so Pretty!

Jacob and Aiden are holding my applique baby blanket blocks.

Below is a quilt that I saw on my new favorite show "Fons and Porter, the love of Quilting." I went and picked out fabric and now I am thinking "pink or brown" for the back.

Every year the guild does a Design Challenge. This year the theme was ELEMENTS, Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. In January we drew our element that we would work on. I drew Fire and we were able to try twice, so I quickly put that back and I got Earth the second time, the pattern for my top is called "trip around the world" and had to be 19" to 24 " square. In February the next step "challenge" was to add applique without making it bigger. That is where I came up with the tree, I drew an old knotty tree and hand sewed leafs onto it. For March we need to embellish with beads, WHAT!

Here is what I have so far. If you have any ideas let me know.

Jacob thought I should sew in some wind blowing the leafs off the tree.

Jen, you really should try them. They taste like pinenuts, you cook them in the microwave and then salt them... they really are so good!

Jen, that applique tree and leaves are beautiful. I know you didn't get your talent from me because I never had one for sewing and picking out fabrics. I can make a pretty good shelf though. The bear in the woods tree is wonderful, it will make a great quilt. I like Jacobs idea, wouldn't know how to do it but it sounds great.

I love Jack Jack is on his tippy toes to hold the quilt up as high as he can, thus showing his nice legs below the quilt!!! That makes me happy!
