Saturday Mamos and Papa were able to come and watch Jacob and Aiden wrestle. The team that they were up against had a lot of older kids and we ended up not wrestling until the end. This is how it works. The kids line up smallest to largest. Then the one boy from each team comes out and wrestle. Because the other team had bigger kids, the smaller kids on the team had to wrestle twice so the kids would match up better in size. They try to match them up as close as possible so Aiden wrestled a boy a bit bigger
than him. This is Aiden's first year wrestling, in fact he is suppose to be 4 years old, but they let him wrestle on Jacob's team.
than him. This is Aiden's first year wrestling, in fact he is suppose to be 4 years old, but they let him wrestle on Jacob's team. Aiden is so funny, he is all about loving the mat. He wrestles with Jacob and takes him down when daddy has them practice at home, but when he gets to the mat and has to wrestle another boy, it as if he wants to take a nap.
Aiden: He loves being good at things but doesn't want to beat Jacob. If it is something small like the last one to get PJ's on he is wanting to win, mostly because he rarely does. Aiden will be the first to listen to go up and get pj's on, but to get Jacob to want to do it, it has to be a race. Aiden waits to make sure it is fare and for the fact that he idolizes Jacob. Jacob then takes advantage of that and runs right by him and gets dressed first. Same with wrestling, Aiden likes to wrestle and when daddy has them practice, Jacob is all over taking down Aiden. He wants Jacob to practice on him as well but Aiden, unless forced by daddy, is just fine with practice as long as it is not the real thing.
I was told by Aiden's gymnastics instructor that "Aiden has a gift, he is a natural." I always felt bad because I never heard that about Jacob. Jacob would sit down to stretch out and his poor little legs don't even open up. Aiden is more flexible and has better form.

Jacob: Wants to win! Everything would be done better and faster if it was a competition. He is cute with Jack jack and lets Jack win, but everyone else he wants to win. Jacob also has the vivid imagination, he gets the boys lost in some detailed fantasy story where of coarse Jacob is the hero.

While wrestling on Saturday, the boy who was Jacob's size didn't want to wrestle again so an older boy who was over a head taller than Jacob said I will wrestle. My heart sank, then I remembered this is little wasps. The other coach again encouraged the other boy to wrestle after seeing the height difference, but he had his sucker and he was done. So Jacob wrestled this boy. Jacob was so quick, our coach was so impressed, he would talk to Jacob and tell him what to do and Jacob just did it and the other kid was shocked. I don't think he thought my little 5 year old would be able to take him down like that and then shimmy up him and hold him down. It was so amazing. After the match, the coach was talking to the other coach and said, "you don't teach that, he is a natural, you don't have to be big you just need to move at the right time." This is coming from athletics director, he is our coach.
My boys are so different and yet so the same... Jack Jack, however... I won't even go into his alter ego complexes.

Yea for Jacob! That's seems like a good activity to help get their aggression out and burn some energy that is usually used on the younger siblings:)
So cute! The totally different personalites are perfect. Your boys are so cute and it is good that you can pick out their strengths and make it work for them. You are an observant mom.
Maybe, that is a HUGE maybe, we should come and watch them wrestle. Is it always SAt morn?
Saturday morning or Thursday night they practice, and yes you should come and watch. Kelsey could so learn so great moves to try on Matt.
