Ruby

This is my family's Ruby. She is our neighbor on the corner. My boys love going to visit her, she always welcomes us and is so thankful for a visit. I love her and am so thankful for her and her kindness to me and my boys. She and I both share a love of puzzles, I can't seem to find time to work on one until I go visit her.

Cute story: this past summer the boys always wanted to go over to Ruby's, they visited her at least once a week. On a Sunday morning in June, Jacob came inside, he had been in the front yard and was dressed in his white shirt and tie. He and Aiden, who was also dressed for Church, had decided to take Ruby flowers. I loved that they would think of her and know that they wanted to do something nice for her.
P.S. they picked flowers out of our yard. Ruby's favorite out of all the flowers were the Dandelions (they got those out of the Park.) She still had them in a little vase when we went over later that week.
Today we had a large Turkey Dinner with lots of left overs so I decided to put some in a few containers for Ruby. I slipped out the door without the boys knowing, thinking it would be easier. She was disappointed not to be able to see the boys, I guess I won't do that again.
Her family had just left and she thought someone else was going to come and visit her. I hope they do. I hate that she is so lonely. Her husband died about 4 years ago and she was never able to have children. She is very fortunate that her nieces and nephews come to visit.
She always has small gifts for the boys and for me. I can't go over and take things to her without leaving with beads, candy, containers, and a "are you sure you can't stay longer."

I love OUR RUBY!

Cute little Ruby. She is probably so happy to have you be her friend.

That is a huge turkey by the way! And I have been meaning to ask about those square plates. Are the Pampered Chef? I dig em! We are conservative round platers at our house. My family wouldn't know what to do with a square!

AHHH, sweet Ruby. Sounds like she loves those little men of yours. It alwasys breaks my heart when the elderly are lonely and alone. That's too bad she didn't have any children. Hopefully the holidays will be happy for her. If not, send your kiddo's over there and leave the for an hour or two or maybe just Jack Jack..he is so adorable.

She aound like a sweet older lady. What sweet boys you have to take care of her, I'm sure they are learning by your good example!
