Low on Iron?

Are you tired when you are pregnant? You are probably low on Iron. I am extremely low after my last test at the doctors and I mentioned how much I hate to take pills. She had the answer. Do you have any Iron cookware? I told her no. Well here are some foods high in IRON! I have added a few definitions for those of you who wanted to be more grossed out!

Cockles boiled

Black Pudding:Black pudding or less often blood pudding is a British English term for sausage made by cooking blood with a filler until it is thick enough to congeal when cooled.Liver: Did anyone else have this growing up? I remember my mom making Liver and Onions!!!

Fish Paste

Faggots :A faggot is a kind of meatball, a traditional dish in the UK, especially the southwest of England and Wales. It is made from meat off-cuts and offal, especially pork. A faggot is traditionally made from pig heart, liver and fatty belly meat or bacon minced together, with herbs added for flavouring and sometimes breadcrumbs. The mixture is shaped in the hand into balls, wrapped round with caul (a membrane from the pig's abdomen), and baked. A similar dish, almôndega, is traditional in Portugal.

Kidney

Venison: After hitting a dead deer, skining it, and then cooking it on the underside of the car as we headed to Primary Childrens hospital with Jacob (so sick). I don't think I could stand the smell or the taste again.

Heart: I gross out just pulling the Heart out of the turkey.

Mussels boiled

Liver Pate: I do remember eating this at a party that Brian and I went to. The host mentioned how wonderful it was. So off I went and put it on a cracker.... They were wrong in my opinion.

Goose: Only at Tori's in laws do they have Goose.

Pheasant

Shrimps canned

Haggis:There are many recipes, most of which have in common the following ingredients: sheep's 'pluck' (heart, liver and lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally boiled in the animal's stomach for approximately three hours

Whitebait:Whitebait are young fish; in Europe the term applies to young herring, but in other parts of the world it is used for similar fish of other species. Whitebait are tender and edible. The entire fish is eaten including head, fins and gut but typically each 'bait' is only 25-50 mm in length and about 3 mm in cross section.

Tongue Ox: I have had Cow Tongue soup, is that the same?

Pilchards canned:Any of various small marine fishes related to the herrings, especially a commercially important edible species, Sardina pilchardus, of European waters.

Beef lean

I don't think I ate any faggots in Wales when I lived there, but I do remember talking about them. As for the rest of the list, I think I will take that pill regularly, Jacob is reminding me everyday. I think he is afraid what I will make for dinner!
