This is a Euonymus or a burning bush I believe. It looks great and also looked great last year. However...
This is also a Burning bush planted 3 feet away, and last year I went to the Nursery and said that it was having issues. The lady told me to water it deeper and it would be fine. It slowly has died one limb at a time and as you can see it has little life in it.
This is a Barberry bush, again I bought more than one and planted them close together. This one looks fantastic. However...
This one was having trouble last year as well and this year it looks just as sad! I went in and spoke to the nursery help again and they said give it a couple weeks. I came home and took these pictures so they could see that I have given it more than a couple weeks already. Out of the three burning bush plants I bought, only 1 looks like that. Same with the Barberry bush, this is the only one that looks like this. I told them that I would wait a couple more weeks, I don't mind giving it longer, but I bought big bushes so they would be the same size! Not one dead and the other beautiful!!!!! Any ideas?

So sorry.
I think you should order the next ones from Spring Hill nursery so you can call and tell them they died and then they will send you 7 to replace the one dead one!
So sorry, truly.
Do the fingernail test. Scratch a stem gently with your fingernail,if it is green underneath it is still alive and then go pray for your shrub. If it is not green, that baby is dead and you should dig it up and take it to the nursery with a mean look on your face.
Jen,
Your entire blog is so entirely funny (well, not entirely - it's sweet and spiritual, too!). But I know when I laugh right out loud by myself, it has to be funny! Your trees remind me of my perennial flowers I planted two years ago. Last year I thought they were all dead, and this year they are as beautiful as ever. So, my thought is that maybe you need to wait until next year before you dig them all up! Love ya!!!
OH MY HELL!! (I think I start all of my comments to you like thata...) but Look at Rachel's comment...is she a PRO (notice- all CAPS!) or what????? You're a super "dirty girl" tee- hee
Hey Jen...Haven't heard from you for awhile. Hope you are doing okay.
