I often forget how much I enjoy cooking. I find that Brian is out of town so much and it seems like a waste to cook nice meals for the kids most days only to hear "yuck" and "do I have to eat that?" Last it seems that when I cook something I often cook for 10 people, fine when Brian is home but not so good with "4 wittle" kids.
Well our family is gathering recipes for a new family cookbook. I wanted to include some new recipes so I pulled out a large box of shrimp from my freezer and posted on facebook. I have raw shrimp, what should I make for dinner? Here are some of the winners! This is Linguine with Shrimp and Lemon oil! It was Divine! I already posted about this one.

I think breaking out the chopsticks for this dish made me think "Oriental" dishes! I wanted to make Shrimp fried rice, Kung Pao shrimp, Lemon Chicken, and Egg rolls. I have a lot of Asian Spices so I went to the store and bought some skins/dough to make my home made egg rolls. I think I will make those tomorrow. We came home from Church and the plan was to eat my frozen meatballs, however I forgot to put them in the oven. I decided to try my luck with some spicy Chicken Kung Pao. I turned out great, so great that now people want the recipe and I have no idea how much of each item I put in. I just started putting things together, here it is pictured below. I took this picture after everyone had already finished, I am bad about remembering to take pictures.
So now I need to make it again and write down what I use and see if it turns out again so I can put it in our family cookbook. Oh and I need a Rice cooker.

Last I made some Beer Battered Coconut Shrimp minus the Beer. I used Apple juice, they were yummy too. This is turning out to be a lot of fun. I am thankful Brian has been home the last couple days, there is no way I would have been able to make this without him taking Charlee out from under my feet. I guess he will do just about anything for Shrimp. ;)

Where are these recipes posted? I want them...especially the lemon oil shrimp!!! You definitely need a rice cooker. Gary had one before we got married over 10 years ago and we still use it all the time. Buy a nice one.
I have a rice cooker steamer thing of some sort that I never use. I also have one I use all the time which is why I don't use the other one. I don't know much about them, but it may be a good one you can have.
Soooo excited Suzy!
I want pictures of casts and cast removel and little shrivelled up legs and of grandkids. How come you don't cook like this when we are down there.
