A little VENT and a trip to Park City

I called Brian this morning and asked what his plans were for the day. He said nothing, and I asked if I could go to Park City possibly with Rachel. He said sure.
Later when he got home with the Armada (only car we have here) he asked when I was going to Park City and he said that Dr. Rosenburg's office had called him to schedule an appointment and he said that he could go today. (He has had some popping in his knee, nothing serious:))
HOW is it that he thought he could go to Park City too! I wasn't asking for permission to go to park city, I was asking for a babysitter so I could go to Park City!

I am a little upset lately, that my time is not my own. I can't just go and get a doctors appointment whenever I want, I can't just up and leave my house when I need grocery's or want a pedicure. I have to get 3 - 4 kids ready. I know that it is part of being a mother but it is driving me crazy. Oh and my feet hurt so bad. I need them looked at, when is it my turn for my list of ailments.
Brian will often say "Hey I am taking two boys." Yes you are taking the two older boys that can take care of themselves. 2 kids same as 4 kids, I still have kids! It is really hard to go to my OB with 4 kids!

Brian thinks that it is a huge help for him to take the two boys (doing something fun) but I think it is really nice of me to stay home with the two younger kids so he and the boys will have a fun time without babies getting frost bite. I guess we both are extremely nice in our own ways.

I ended up asking him to go to Walmart for me. He said yes, then I told him I needed fabric. He started to hyperventilate, go red, and his eyes began to water. I then thought his head would explode from fear of fabric and I told him it would be alright it was just Walmart. He replied with "it is a good thing that it is Walmart because if it was a fabric store I would not be going for you. I have a fear of fabric stores starting from an early age with my mother going from store to store all day long."
My thought was I WANTED TO GO TO PARK CITY NOT YOU! I asked first. I made a list of things and sent him on his way.
When he came home he told me that he forgot to get the fabric, he was teasing me but it made me mad. I wanted to go to Park CITY! I had asked and he changed my plans. Later he was upset that I didn't thank him for getting my fabric. I said "you teased me about getting it" why would I think to thank you. He also forgot the other things on my walmart list.
Yes I was thankful that I got the fabric. He forgot to thank me for staying home with the kids. J/K

I soooooo know how you feel and I only have 1 baby and a part time daughter.
Just having time for myself to shave my legs once a week is a miracle--but he can go snowmobiling whenever!!
I feel your pain sister!!

I don't know how you do it with four. You amaze me! They just don't understand how you really don't NEED those purchases (sp?)....what you need is a break BY YOUR SELF:)

You are the BEST writer! I laugh and then I want to cry for you! I think it's time to bring the boys for a sleep-over and then you'll have time for shopping AND a pedicure! Call me and let's plan it!

I have had this conversation with Rob several times. It kills me that he can just get up and go, but if I need to go somewhere or want to do something I have to ask permission. He has gotten a lot better and I appreciate it. But it is extremely frustrating. I hope you get some time by yourself soon!
