Jack Jack's New Bed

Our good friend Joy has always kept us in mind when it is time to clear out her son's old clothes and toys. We were able to go and visit them tonight and spend the evening catching up. This is a picture of Brian explaining to the boys how we behave at other people's houses!

Joy and Tyler are full time in California now and we don't see them very often. When we were going to leave Joy found a bag of clothes and some bedding. THOMAS the Train Bedding.

I first should mention that Jack doesn't like anything in his bed. Even as a little baby I would cover him up after he went to sleep and soon I would hear a thud. Everything in his bed would be tossed out. No covers, toys, pillows, sheets, bottle, sippy cup, NOTHING. Jack would drink his sippy cup (water), stand up and chuck it out of his bed or put it on his night stand and then take his nap. He likes to hold his bottom sheet in his hand with his other hand either in his mouth or straight over his head.
Jack now has Thomas Sheets, top and bottom with pillow and case, a fuzzy Thomas blanket and a comforter. He is so excited, I am so excited. I hate keeping the house so warm at nights because Jack won't use blankets. My nights are usually spent with Charlee and covering up Jack Jack over and over so he doesn't freeze.

Jack climbed into his covers and gave me the "you are so proud of me," look. I said "look at you Jack, such a big boy." Brian came home at that point and I told Jack to go tell daddy what new things he received for his bed. He ran downstairs and had Daddy come up and look. Brian said.... I could of smacked him.... "Jack Jack you don't like covers on your bed." I hurried and responded with but this is special Thomas bed sheets, giving Brian the evil Eye! He went to bed well, he likes the idea of it but he ended up in my bed with his feet on my stomach kicking me most of the night. I hope tonight he stays in his bed a little longer."I have one of those, I have a Jack Jack just like you somewhere only he is holding a Airplane." Brian tells Jack all the time that he has a little Jack Jack just like him somewhere, only his Jack Jack is not holding a car he is holding an airplane, or his Jack Jack doesn't cry over silly things his Jack Jack is tough. Where does Brian come up with these things. Both of the older boys are in bed tonight and Jack is awake with me and Brian. I ask Jack, "who do you love the most." Jack says, Mamos, Mama, Daddy, Papa... then he lays on my shoulder and says I love you most. "I love you more Jack Jack." "I love you more to spaceship and moon and stars." His little hands and arms wrap around my neck and he squeezes me and kisses me on the cheek. I love my Jack Jack.(Jack Jack always has a messy face to wipe before pictures are taken.)

Daddy then steps in to play, he grabs Jack and tears him out of my arms. Jack reaches for me and yells mama save me. Daddy begins to tickle him and he continues to call for me. DADDY is really strong and mama has a hard time saving him, I can't always get him away from Brian, but if I tickle Brian, Brian will always stop tickling Jack Jack, while he tries to get away. Last night as Brian pulled Jack from my arms, my thumb nail ripped low. It hurt and I began my fake whimper. "Daddy hurt me" boo hoo, Jack began to come over to comfort me and Brian scooped him up and said, "no you sit in time out until mama is done fixing her thumb." Jack began to sob, he was so upset with Daddy, Daddy replied, I am just kidding Jack and Jack ran over and loved me!

Oh the things that we do to our children that will mess them up as teenagers.

I have been going to look for some material with airplanes on it to make jack a quilt, I'm glad he has a Thomas sheet set and blanket to keep him warm. I hope he will really use it.
Notice who he mentions first when ask who he loves most :) its me

You sound like your family is so happy and perfect. I love it! I wish I had that kind of relationship with my kids. We do love our tickle time. And that is so touching that your kids know the Savior so much. We need to work on that here.

So fun! I feel like I haven't "talked" to you in ages, my friend. How are you? I hope that things are going well!

Hooray for blankets and covers and comforters for Jack! My girls would have frozen years ago if they didn't sleep with covers. EVERY night I still check on Kendal. She is getting so good at keeping them on - like 5 or 6 blankets on.
