Going for a drive!

Our realtor called me this morning and told me that some people wanted to come look at our house between 3:30 and 4 pm. Around 3PM I got a call from him again and thought to myself, they are going to cancel. Then a comment that Brian had made the day before hit me. Brian said, well if people cancel on us at least we still have a clean house. AH HA I answered the phone,
Hello Landon, are the people cancelling? NO, another couple want to come look at it at 5:30. I then told Landon, "I was beginning to wonder if Brian had called him and asked him to tell me someone was coming over just so the house would be clean."
NO, he said laughing. Is Brian coming home tonight. No, I don't think so. Okay so 3:30 and 5:50, got it. I picked up a couple more things and loaded the kids in the car, (Jack sleeping) and drove to pick up Jacob from school. We found him and then went over to visit Rachel at her house since we can spy my house from hers and see how long they are going to be. After leaving Rachel's house I stopped quickly into our house but left all the kids in the car and kept driving. We deposited some checks and got the boys a little bite to eat. We drove around some more and more because my kids in the car is the only guarantee that I have that my house will not get messed up again.

Brian called and said he was going to be at the airport in 1/2 hour and to come pick him up. We never even went home. We drove straight to the Heber Airport, on the way I saw a plane landing but decided it wasn't Brian because it was too little and it wasn't a jet. I waited almost 40 min. later finding out that I was at the wrong part of the airport. Finally I called him. He was at the other hanger with the 210 it was him that I saw and he must have taxied by me before I got there. He acted like I should have known that he would be in the 210.

These are the Facts:
Brian left early this morning for the Airport in SLC headed for California to get the Jet and pick up Steve. I was not told where they were going or when he would be home. Brian talks to so many different people on the phone I think he just assumes that I know where he will be and when he will be home.

How was I suppose to know that he was flying home in the 210. All in all, the house was clean until the moment we stepped into it and Brian dumped his bags and our boots on the floor and we let the boys run free. The major mistake was when I heated up some food for them, told Brian what Jacob had to do on his homework and then I LEFT for quilt guild.

I should have never left, my beautiful clean house was no more! Why is it that it can take all day long to clean it but seconds to destroy it.

AMEN....Seriously AMEN! WHY???????? I will spend two-three days deep cleaning and then the one day I relax and take a break from house work my house looks like hell. You ask the kids or the hubby to pick it up and it's never as good as we would do it. We actually put it all back where it belongs and when you leave it up to them it just gets tossed and thrown to where ever it looks like it could fit. These winter times kill me because all I do is feel like I am cleaning and cleaning because they are in the house more, AHHHHHH! And HEAVEN FORBID the home be clean and picked up when you get back from somewhere. Oh NO, it was just too much for them to keep the kids alive….let alone pick up after they put the kids to bed. SO, you spend either that night (if you are not too tired) or the next day cleaning up their mess that they made while you were away! I swear our job never ends.

I remember people coming to look at our house in Santaquin and people cancelled all the time. Mark would say the same thing to make me feel better knowing I was frustrated and even though he meant well Mark didn’t have to spend all freakin’ day cleaning the entire house AND taking care of the kids at the same time!

Love ya!
