Lift and Roll

When Brian and I were first married, I remember him coming home late from working a road shift (cop), he would shower and then come crawl into our little full size bed. I would curl up in one corner and he would lay diagonal across the bed so he could get most of his body on the bed. I loved that he showered before he came to bed, he always smelled so good and it was nice to have him clean in my nice clean sheets.

It didn't last long.... Although we seem to have a sleeping situation now that we both like. I sleep in the very uncomfortable King size bed, by myself and he sleeps downstairs away from the kids and in front of the T.V. on, as he puts it, his "very comfortable couch."

Please do not take this the wrong way, if we have a fight or Brian wants to annoy me he sleeps in our bed with me... :) Brian and I both feel that the perfect situation would be two master bedrooms. I hate watching T.V. and he loves it. I hate my covers messed up and he could careless. I love my husband, but we both agree, this is sleep we are talking about, not LOVE.

That brings me to the photo's above and below. Last night Brian snored, I mean slept with me in the bed until around 3:30 A.M. when he got up and said I just can't sleep. Wow you think!!! Neither could I!!! After he went downstairs I, still trying to fall back asleep rolled over and saw that the bed was destroyed, so I got up and made the bed and then went back to sleep. In the morning he came up and snuggled with me and soon we had Jack, then Aiden and finally Jacob in bed with us. My bed could not handle the boys and I could not handle my bed being messed up so I got up and went downstairs. I whispered to Jack, "lock me out" because the seems to be his favorite thing to do lately.

I came up later and found the bed to be completely destroyed. You can see where Brian has taken the decorative king sized sham pillow, folded it in half and propped himself up to watch T.V. with the boys. The fitted sheet have been pulled up, the comforter is not even close to having the lines perfectly up and down like I have it while I sleep.
I often call Brian the "biggest cover messer-upper ever" I think that he has taught his boys to be the same way. Aiden however loves his covers perfect, kind of like his socks!
I have tried to explain to Brian that the lines in the comforter are there to show you if it is straight... If you need to roll over, simply 'lift and roll then put the covers down again.' I also think that sheets should be folded back a couple inches over the top of the covers. No pillows in the armpits or in between legs, that is not where pillows go! Brian calls me a "cover freak." But yes I have found another who is like me, we are the norm and the basis for all cover practices!

I ordered a new bed with our tax return money and it comes soon. I am not sure how a new comfortable bed is going to work, I hate to admit it but I am a little sad to see the old bed and possibly the old sleeping arrangements go away. I might have to send all the T.V.'s in the house with the delivery guys when they take the old bed.
Another side note: Jack Jack has locked people out of:
Bedroom
Car (Cadillac)
House (front door, and sliding back door)
Office
boys room (he sits in front of the door so the boys can't open it)

This post is hilarious! I hate having a messy bed, but I have to disagree with you on one thing. Pillows. I got a body pillow when I was pregnant with the triplets and I have not let that thing go since. I have to have it between my legs or I can't sleep. I can't go anywhere without it! In fact, we had to pack it to the Bahamas. Rob thinks it's funny, but knows that if I don't sleep neither does he :)
