Charlee was throwing up so we didn't go to church this morning. Jacob and Aiden went out later on and found a snake (I didn't know what they had found). Jacob came sneaking into the house looking for something. I knew he was hiding something... yep it was a snake. Proud moment when Jacob refused to touch the snake, THAT IS MY BOY! Aiden however, different story. We found a container and got it out of the oil pan/something Aiden had found at the ditch and had so kindly put it in.
Aiden is so excited, he is sure he will take this snake for pet day!
While making O2 holes in the container for Sneaky one extra piece of plastic broke. Jacob set him down by my bedroom back door. (OUTSIDE) When Aiden went to check on him he was gone. I found him in our window well, Aiden's comment was "he led us to food for him." We had read online that they like to eat snails and this window well was FULL of snails. I went in the basement and took out the screen helped Aiden out of the window and had him grab the snake and put it into a new container.
It got cold later that night and I convinced the boys that he would freeze in that plastic container and that we needed to let him go. I had read online that one person had a snake that lived under their hot tub, so I told the boys they could put it beside the hot tub and maybe it would stay warm.
Soon it was bed time, after the kids had gone to bed I did my normal rounds (test, check, cover, pick up, etc...) I noticed a sticky note on Jacob's alarm clock that simply said "snake." I often check his alarm clock before I go to bed because he has these crazy ideas that he needs to set his alarm for 4:30 AM sometimes. I checked his alarm and sure enough 6:30 AM was the time to wake up and see the sticky note "snake" and go check the snake.
