Tourette Syndrome

This story goes back a week or so! My parents were down for a visit, Brian and my mom were visiting in the kitchen while I made dinner. Brian told my Mother a story about a gentlemen who was in the temple dressing room getting ready. Suddenly he heard a noise followed by some foul language. He went to investigate and found another man who also was getting ready. When he inquired of the man and his behavior, the man handed him a card. The card said...
“WHY DO I ACT THIS WAY?
Because I can’t control it-I have Tourette Syndrome-a medical condition. It
causes me to make loud sounds, have twitches, and say things I don’t mean. I
can’t help it anymore than you can stop a sneeze or a cough. I am sorry if it
bothers you —it bothers me more.”
Brian and my mom continued to talk, but not until last night did I think of this story again...
Do any of you know my husband? He is very bold, blunt, sarcastic, you get the idea. He often says things to others that I can't believe came out of his mouth. Every business trip he has a run in with border patrol or airport security something of course they did wrong. I do agree they most of the time are idiots I just can't believe how many times he points it out to them. He called me last night and said "I figured out what is wrong with me."
Me: "oh yeah, what is wrong with you."
Brian: "They have a diagnosis, I must have Tourette syndrome. It explains it all, why I randomly and without warning say the things I say. It is not my fault... I have Tourette Syndrome - a medical condition, it causes me to make loud offensive sounds..."
Me: "laughing hysterically"
Brain: "I need to have some cards made up so when, lets say, a world renowned stem-cell research doctor says that he can cure anything, and I spout of a rude and sarcastic comment in front of my boss, I can stop and pull out the card and simply hand it to them."
Me: "still laughing... That is so funny, yes Brian I think you have Tourettes, the only problem is the last line on the card. It reads "I am sorry if it bothers you...IT BOTHERS ME MORE!"

I don't think you have Tourettes because it "doesn't bother you to say the things you say!"

Tourettes Syndrome received it's name from, Gilles De La Tourette in the mid 1800's. Brian you may have found a new syndrome, the Rowser syndrome. The B. W. Rowser syndrome is Tourette's syndrome with the knowledge that you have offended someone, but it happens so frequently you just don't care anymore, yet find it convenient to have a medical condition card on hand that might explain away going to jail.
MY FUNNY FUNNY MAN!

maybe I will print him up some cards soon, just because it would be so great to have him say something great and then reach into his pocket and hand me or someone else a card explaining it all!
