The Devil Cow #302

Cows!

Cows have been a topic that has come up over and over again the last couple weeks, so I decided to post about COWS!
First off, Brian cracked me up when we were discussing cows and to sum up he thought that all Dairy cow, male and female produced milk. LOVED IT!
Second- my friend Matt was headed up to Montana to buy a cow with his brother last week and he showed me a movie with hundreds of different cows just running in a field. The best is when he turned up the volume and I got to hear how nice Dixie Erica (#20) bellar was. (Dixie is pictured above, I will have to see if Curt can take a picture of #302 later)
Third- After asking Matt what the Cow's name was, I remembered that my parents named a cow after Brian's best man at our wedding, Wylder. Then my mom realized that the cow was indeed a cow not a steer and changed the cows name to Wylderette! If that is not crazy enough I remember eating Wylderette and she tasted good. BTW - Although I would find it a honor to have a heffer named after me, Wylder and Brian did not find it at all flattering!
Fourth - Today in Church Brother Clyde spoke in sacrament meeting. He did a wonderful job and I enjoyed his talk so much. At one part of his talk he spoke of him and his father going to an auction and buying a cow. Much the same as my friend Matt had just done last week, oh except the cow that Matt wanted went for $28,000. No JOKE! Anyway, Curt (Clyde) described the cow as the ugliest thing he had ever seen. "When she runs (like on the video of cows I saw) her horns flop" he said and he went on about her odd features. Curt asked his dad "why are we buying this cow?" To which his dad replied, "she has a good calf inside of her."

So #302 or Devil cow, as Curt refers to her, came home to the Clyde farm. He relayed a couple stories about #302 and here is one of them.
It was time to tag #302 calf, he noticed that devil cow aka 302 was up and away from the calf so he tagged it. #302 came running full force, horns and ears a flopping, belly wiggling and she was not happy. He started to run, figuring that as soon as he was away from the calf, #302 (momma) would stop chasing him. He looked back and she was still after him and then he noticed the darn calf was following him. He finally jumped up onto the flat bed and was safe from Devil cow! I guess Adrienne (Curts Wife) said he shouldn't call it the devil cow, but he said "she hasn't tried to tag her calf."

Well after the second story he tied it all into a great spiritual moment. But for me it was not over, #302 stuck in my head. Jack Jack is #302, we used to call him the devil now I will call him #302. He has a good Calf inside of him he is just #302 on the outside right now. I love you Jack, I know you are going to be an amazing man when you out grow your stubborness and the need to be alpha male or at least learn to control it.

When a bull and cow are in a field far apart, the cow will call to the bull.

BULL! BULL!

and the bull will answer;

HEFFER! HEFFER!
