To start lets go back to last Saturday! I posted about this remember!!! I picked up our Avalanche from the airport (Heber) so I could take it up into the mountains and help haul some wood with the Crane's! I got teased from Derek (teenage neighbor boy) when I told Matt that I brought the "truck" up to help bring back some wood!
Derek said, "that is not a truck it is 'like' a Cadillac!"
ME: It is not, it is a "Avalanche."
Derek and Matt mumbled something and I didn't think anything else about it UNTIL Rachel just posted how and I quote;
Jen's " so-called truck. She calls it a truck and it makes me giggle because to me it is NOT a truck, it is an SUV with a little bed like thing."
How rude, as I picked my hurt self up off the ground I continued to read her post and felt a TITCH better. POOR AVALANCHE, two weeks of hurtful trash talk about the cute "SUV with a little bed like thing!"
Okay now that is out of the way, guess what I did this Saturday??????????
Come on just take a guess.
I went to an Auction! Yes I was bidder 268 and I had so much fun. I am a people person/deal finder to the extreme and what a better place to be than at an auction with a bunch of people and tons of deals to be had. Unfortunately there were a few too many people that I knew and that is just wrong when you are bidding for a good deal.
You don't want to be the one that bid up the price and you don't want your friend to be the one that made you pay more for something! As I type this I realize, WOW I am so CHEEP!
Anyway there were some great deals to be had. Rachel mentions some in her blog, but I watched a complete bed go for $150, a washer and dryer go for under $100, and a new LG refrigerator go for $390, insane!!!!
Here are some of the deals that Rachel got, she bought this red sofa. I love this sofa, it truly does look brand new and for $90 it was a steal plus (for those who know me well) there is plastic on the new mattress. (I don't take plastic off of anything, one more sick glimpse into the crazy life of Jenny) Oh Rachel you owe me two soda's, keep the sweat!!!!
Rachel got this (below) new headboard, foot board, frame, new mattress, and new box springs for $195, like she mentioned I wanted it and I did bid her up $10 sorry Rachel she would have got an even better deal if I would not have bid.

Here is my explanation, I had just lost the other bed to Barbara. Thinking I could get the next bed without bidding against Barbara, oops, I had no idea that Rachel was going to bid on this bed too. So I guess I earned them an extra $10. It is so pretty. Rachel got this for $190, great deal!
Well at this point we figured we better go and feed our neglected children and possibly come back later.

When I went back there weren't as many bidders and when they got to the sectional sofa, not one person was bidding. Rachel got it for $50. Can you believe it? 50 dollars! You should of heard her hauler she was so excited! Another added bonus is that there is also a hide-a-bed in this sofa. We didn't know that until we tried to lift it. It has plastic on it TOOOOOO!
Well, there is my Saturday. We had plans to go to Deer Creek Reservoir and play in the sand and water and have a picnic. NOPE - instead we got our yellow card and had a blast! But then came the hard part we had to load and unload the furniture. It was ironic that every time we got to Rachel's house there was a teen boy or a man just "waiting" (not really) to help us unload. Thank you good Samaritans!
Back to the hurtful comments about our "so-called Truck!" It hauled a 3 piece sectional sofa with a hide-a-bed, a red hide-a-bed sofa, a 6 foot bookcase, and a entire new bed to Rachel's.
Thanks for the new respect for my "so-called Truck!"
Rachel posted: "I guess I won't giggle (can you believe she giggles at me) anymore when she calls it a truck. I love the Avalanche and I love Jen for grunting all day with me. We both have sore bodies from lifting and un-lifting my auction finds."
Oh I bought a flat screen computer monitor for $15. I also got a free electric stove for my Brother and Sister-in-law and a free bunk bed set for my mom! It is all about talking to people.
Plus remember how I wanted to clean out stuff in my Garage!
I DID IT! Some nice, young father in a mini van came and got Rachel's old Chairs that she put on her lawn with a free sign on them and as he loaded them into his van I asked if he would help us unload (he was one of the good Samaritans). I then got his phone number and sent him to my house and gave him more treasures out of my garage. He helped me unload my free stove and then went over and took Rachel's old love seat! WOW how cool is the circle of giving!
My Garage is looking BETTER!

I am glad someone helped you with the stove, since I didn't. You unloaded ALL of my crap, but I didn't help you one ounce. We were gone recuperating at McDonalds and Movie Gallery, so sorry! What a good guy that fellow is!
I do giggle at you and I do appreciate the Avalanche more than you could ever know.
I think you got a way better steal than me - a computer monitor, a stove, and bunk beds for $15. THAT my dear is a steal!
rachel
I love that about the Avalanche cuz Brad and I are always saying that Landon's is a car-truck:) Hehe
Wow, great finds. Can't believe the deals. I need to get all the tips from you, you are a wealth of knowledge. That's hillarious about the Avalanche not being a truck. I totally think of it as a truck, but I didn't grow up in Heber and we don't own a truck.
