Happy Anniversary present!

Brian woke up last Saturday morning with a "buy" bug. Maybe some of your husbands have this bug. This is the bug that comes every 6 months to a year and they just have to buy something.
Once I remember Brian had a "buy" bug and he wanted some land. We were in Idaho at a family reunion and at the reunion they were selling cemetery plots, $50! I told Brian he could buy that land... he wasn't that interested.
Brian soon told me that he wanted me to go with him to Provo and look for a new motor for our boat! I was not to excited and told him we didn't need a new boat motor, the year was almost over. "This is the prime time to buy a motor, at the end of season." Mind you he has the "buy" bug so if it was spring it still would be the "prime time to buy a boat," just for a different reason.
Soon I found him online looking at motors for sale. He called and called, all the used motors that were advertised seemed to be sold! So then he wanted me to go and look for a new boat! This is a serious "bug." Most of the time the bug goes away, I could tell this bug was not going away.
He soon found a boat online at KSL.com and wanted to go and look at it. I told him go ahead, but he wanted me to go too. I had things I needed to do around the house and really did not want to go. I explained to him that I knew he had a "bug" and that he didn't need me there, he would buy it if he wanted it!
Brian has a way with words and soon I and the kids were in the car driving to Huntsville. I had just came back from my mom's house and did not want to drive that far. But again Brian has a way with words and I am a softy!
We arrived in Huntsville and Brian (I didn't know this) had still not told the owners we were coming. So we went to eat and hoped they called us. They did and we were actually really close to where they lived. As we were driving to their house we saw some really large homes and some pretty modest homes. I told Brian when he said it was the 4th house on the next street that we would probably end up in a trailer park!
BOY WAS I WRONG!
Jack Jack's exact words were, "mama, look a princess house!" The house was beautiful, huge, and did look like a castle! Upon arriving we realized that the grounds had trees but no other landscaping and we instantly realized that these people were probably in some trouble with money.
Brian looked at the boat and spoke to the owners for around 2 hours. I was given a tour of the beautiful house and really enjoyed talking to the owner. I wrote out the check and told Brian Happy Anniversary.
By the time we left it was going to be too late to take it out on the lake and Brian said "what a terrible time to buy a boat, on a Saturday Night!"
I am sure we could have bought it for a bit cheaper, the owners were pretty desperate to sell it! But as Brian and I got to know them and we chatted and found out more about their family, I think Brian (being the way Brian is) would have paid more than they were asking!
Nice family, in fact her aunt is my neighbor up the street. Her husband is in development and is facing some really hard times. I was proud of Brian, we got a screaming deal but did not cheat them either!
I told Brian Happy 10 year Anniversary! You have your boat, now what are you going to get me, boating toys? He said "good idea!"Monday after Jacob got out of school we called our friends and headed out to the lake! It was a great time. I still have not been able to ride in the boat but I am sure I will soon. The kids had fun, Jacob got in the water a lot with Micheal, Kelsey, Thomas, and William and also rode the tube. Aiden jumped out of the boat into the water he didn't move much and the boat came around and was right beside him. He got scared thinking that the boat was going to run over him and Brian reached down to get him then noticed it wasn't going to work so he jumped in. After he jumped in he said "I hope my phone was not in my pocket." ME TOO!
Luckily it wasn't! Brian did mention that with this boat it is jet propelled so we don't have to worry about propeller accidents and he told me it is a lot slower than our smaller boat we now need to sell. Thanks to my great friends for coming out on the lake with us. Rachel thanks for taking pictures.
BTW used 17 foot boat for sale, needs new water pump on awesome 150 horse mercury outboard motor. Great starter boat, new interior! Hee hee
