Back to School night

I always feel like I am out of place during things like this. I was asked a couple times if I was lost or okay. "Are you okay?" "You look stressed!" I guess I looked pretty funny, I wonder what I look like when I am really stressed out.

We first met Jacob's teacher Mrs. Patterson. I wanted to get there early to visit with her but I didn't make it. I found out that everyone meets in the gym first anyway so it would not have worked to go early. After finding Jacob's new room, Mrs. Patterson had an activity for the students and they put together a little paper person. Jacob found his name tag and put it on his new desk. Justin Marsh came in and put his name tag down beside Jacob's, "he is my friend" he told Mrs. Patterson.
I made a comment to Jacob something along the lines of "well if you want to continue to sit by each other you need to be really good."

I told Mrs. Patterson about Jacob's diabetes, gave her some information handouts, and tried to talk about what to expect. This was not the greatest time to do this. I felt dumb that I had to talk to her so much about it and I also felt like I was being a bother because so many other parents wanted to talk to her too. I think I should have scheduled a meeting with her before this.
This is Jacob on his third day of school! I will post about school another day!
