Movie Moment

A few months back I spoke of a moment that reminded me of a Movie... Well I had another one today.
I don't think I have mentioned (j/k) how stressful diabetes is, how much I hate it, how it controls me and my son, well and the rest of the kids too. Today as I helped Jacob fix and count the carbs for this lunch I stuck the note on his tester and put everything in his bag. Everything except a bag of pretzels... no big deal right! WRONG, he will go low if he doesn't eat them so I made a dash down to the school to put Jacob's pretzels in his lunch bag. As I walked into the school, it was one of those right place right time moments, I saw Aiden's class walk into the gym. I walked into Jacob's class and his teacher told me that Jacob was in PE, I explained that I didn't need him, just needed to put this in his lunch. She said "he is so good about his diabetes, he doesn't even need me to tell him to test himself, he just does it. It is amazing how good he takes care of his diabetes." YIPPEE! That felt good, I love Jacob.
Anyway, as I went to leave, I decided to peek into the gym where Aiden was having EP. (Aiden calls it EP... I love it!) I saw his class running circles around the gym, I waited until he came close and then (movie moment) ran inside behind him scooped him up and ran a lap around the gym with him in my arms. I set him down and ran out the door, he never broke pace, he just kept running and told me "I love you mom."
Hey I had to try for the second Movie moment right. I peeked into the other half of the gym and again THAT RIGHT TIME RIGHT PLACE, Jacob was right there... I showed him that Aiden was right next door, told him about his pretzels and told him I love him. I am so thankful for these wonderful Movie Moments. I guess diabetes gave me two more opportunities to tell my boys how much I love them.

That is so cute! I can totally see you scooping him up and running around the gym with him. You rock.
