Diabetes appointment!

Remember how Jacob got sick while we were in St. George on the 26 -28th. Well taking out Jacob's pump was the right thing to do. Jacob had been on Amoxicillin for the last few weeks due to a abscessed tooth, then strep throat. This infection/puss that I saw while we were down in St. George happened while Jacob was on Antibiotic. I thought that it would clear up, it didn't. He had to sit on that hard lump all the way home from St. George. He mentioned it hurt here and there and it began to really bother him late on Monday night. I looked at it and it had gone from a golf ball size hard lump to a large orange. I told him I would schedule him in the morning to see the doctor. I changed his pump (same side) that morning and sent him off to school, scheduling him an appointment. Dr. Berg could feel the hard lump, now the size of a grapefruit and there was a lot of heat coming off from it. It looked like a giant volcano, with the swelling coming to a golf ball size point rising off of his buttocks at least 2".

MRSA, an antibiotic resistant staff infection. He was a sick little boy, it took over a week for the swelling to go down and the pain to go away. Dr. Berg had us come in every other day to make sure it was improving. It has not fully disappeared yet, he still has a lump, but he has no more pain as of today!

Today we had a diabetes appointment in Salt Lake. They looked him over good, took his A1C (7.6 Good) and then they are going to have a diabetes pump rep come and visit with us about new places to put Jacob's site... With that infection in his right buttocks we only have the left buttocks to place his pump site.
On the way home from Salt Lake, Jacob asked me "mom is there pain in heaven?"
Me: No honey there is no pain in heaven
Jacob a few min later: "mom is there sickness in heaven?"
Me again: No Jacob there is no sickness in heaven. At this point I get a little teary because I know how much Jacob has been dealing with the last few months.
Jacob again 3-4 minutes later: "mom, is there hunting in heaven?"
Me: "No Jacob"
Jacob more like 10 minutes later: "mom are there animals in heaven?"
Me: "yes, I think there are probably animals in heaven."
Jacob again around 10 minutes later: "are there guns in Heaven?"

Brian has been great to take the kids today while I took Jacob to his Dr. appointment, then again while I attended our R.S. Meeting tonight! GREAT Gardening, budgeting, preach my gospel
