Heavy heavy hang over thy poor head! We decided that our kids just like to hit their brothers. Doing heavy heavy hang over for birthdays is a tradition but it seems that they are bonked on the head with every
syllable not just when we say "with a bonk on your head."

I asked Jacob what he wanted for his birthday, he said I want to go fishing. I asked him what he wanted for a present he said, thinking a bit... "I don't know, how about a rifle so I can go hunting." Okay time to re-phrase the question. "Jacob, how would you like a bike for your birthday?"
Jacob: My bike is fine, I don't really need a new bike.
Me: How about some scriptures?
Jacob: New scriptures would be nice.
Me: How about a new suit?
Jacob: I have my suit coat, I don't need a new suit, it fits just fine.
Me: You really wouldn't want a new bike for your birthday?
Jacob: I will have it if you want me to. (Pause)
Hey if you bought me a new bike then,
Aiden could have my bike and Jack could have
Aiden's bike. That would be a good idea!
Here is Brian, about to BONK Jacob on the head! Later after the kids were in bed, Brian came to me and said "If my parents asked me if I wanted clothing or scriptures, I would have said NO WAY!" What a great boy he is!

You have taught him well. You don't need to replace something that is just fine. Why have the best of everything? Great kid. I agree. Unfortunatly my son and husband do not agree. Sad.
