On Holiday in Lyman

It all started with two fun gals wanting to head south to Lyman for the week. Rachel Crane and I (in separate cars) took off for the weekend down to where she grew up. Lyman UT is close to Fish Lake were Brian's family has a reunion every year. We loaded up our 5 kids, our 5 bikes and left town. I was so excited to be invited to meet Rachel's cool family and even more excited to get out of dodge.

We started off a bit late, I say because Rachel decided it would be best to separate the screaming children, and she says because I am just late. I then had to test Rachel's Patients with the fact that I missed the exit to Scipio.

Mind you this is an exit that will put us an additional 1 hour behind, so we took a short cut threw the median!!! This is a true sign that Rachel is a patient loving person. We arrived at her parents house 1 1/2 hours later than they expected. With three extra boys who had been in a car for 3 hours. (p.s. Buttons, my mom said you are a saint.) Then to top it all off, both nights we were there my children decided to not sleep. (very unusual) It was so much fun... On Saturday we went to Capitol Reef National Park and spent the day... Here are some photos that Rachel took (sorry I don't have a working camera yet, so Rachel has supplied all my photo's lately) Thanks again to the Chappell Family for their hospitality and the great food.

What a great weekend! The kids had so much fun chasing deer and each other. On the right is Jack with Kelsey and Jacob swinging on this amazing vine/root that had grown out and up a tree near by. The kids played and played, we were in heaven with the apple orchards, the deer and the amazing back drop of scenery.

My boys being boys wanted to catch a lizard, we walked down this trail to the "lizard house" where all the lizards were staying for the winter. Of course we had to jump off the ledge, and once again so Rachel could take our picture. It was amazing to be visiting a place where Rachel's family settled, she told me all sorts of amazing stories of her geneology. I love geneology.

It was all about being two... two 2 year olds ready for the day of fun.

On the left Kelsey (mom) was giving the kids the run down on the coming events.

Last the kids all together, notice Aiden is loving Kelsey and Jack can't keep his eyes off of Kendal. Jack wants to push her off the rock, Aiden wants to give Kelsey a Love. He wants a sister (his age) so bad.

My mom is a saint, and I think that "patient and loving" is a bit of a stretch, but thanks!

It was a good time!

By the way, you sound so British by calling it a Holiday. I love it.
