Well because Friday and Saturday no longer had hours left in them, Sunday evening became the day that Brian had to tear down the fireplace. We had Jones, and Cranes over for dessert and the boys watched Air Wolf. When they left Brian got to take apart my perfectly good gas fireplace. That is right a flip a switch fire place that I never even saw lit.
This one is for you "dad" Brian said "wait, and he stuck out his tongue."
The boys hauled all the rocks and metal outside Monday morning. They did good but not without complaining!
It's hot, I am thirsty, I am sick, I am tired...So it was ready for the wood stove... below the wood stove is in and the mantle is hung (not finished enough for me but up all the same.)
This is where the dust comes into play. See all the rock at the bottom of the picture! Well they cut it to size with a diamond blade grinder. ROCK SMOKE! They started doing it inside and Brian said NO! Then they moved it right outside the window, still every time they would cut a piece dust and rocks went everywhere! Messy Messy, but they did a great job! I will post finished pictures later.
