Fuddy Dud!

If only I had know it was this beautiful before!

Two and a Half hour drive one way...
Four kids in a car...
Moving into our new house in two days...
Easier to stay in Idaho, where we have lived for a month...
Packing everything I need for 4 kids including supplies for a diabetic and a baby in 10 min.
Going to the unknown, unknown sleeping arrangements, food etc...
Brian flying to the "unknown" while I drive with all the kids...
Wanting to have everything ready at my parents house before I leave on in one day. I really in my mind figured I would pack everything up on Saturday, organize it all, take my time, so it would all be ready for me to leave on Sunday...
Staying in somebodies house, for two nights and cleaning it after 6 people have messed it up...
Driving 2 hours, dropping off Brian so he can "fly" home. Then driving up to my parents house to pack everything that my family has used for the last month into my car with four kids who have already been in the car for almost 3 hours. Then driving to Heber only to arrive at our "new" house with nothing in it. No bed for Charlee to take a nap or go to bed, no blankets, no pillows, no food in the fridge, no nothing.
Always wanting to be prepared...not wanting to rush...

these are just some of the reasons I am a "fuddy dud!"

Brian calls me a Fuddy Dud! By definition a Fuddy Dud is a person who... well ruins all your fun. Yes I don't have the same easy going attitude as my dear husband. I don't find it easy nor do I find it fun to do last minute adventures with small children. I like the comforts of home, if you want to go because you want to build a fire, I will build you a fire right here. If you want to go because you can swim, I will fill the swimming pool or the tub. I hate the unknown and I hate traveling with my kids on long drives unless I absolutely have to. I think that the 2 hours in the car to get to somewhere could be 2 hours of time spent with the kids outside of a car.
I also hate that Brian keeps saying I do this every time. I hope that he soon will realize that I just need my concerns put to rest and that I will always have these concerns that need to be addressed. I hope that he will take the time to answer my questions and not call me a Fuddy Dud! This will make me less of a fuddy dud!

Once I realized that he would drive with me I felt better, in fact after we got up there I found out it would be faster to just drive straight home from Alpine instead of going back to Preston. I didn't realize/know that before. I am not sure if I would of been able to pack us all up in time before we drove up to Alpine, but once up there, I did think that driving straight home would be nice. I do like to know all and have all my concerns addressed.

Needless to say it was a long drive home and we were ready to get the heck out of that Armada. Brian was able to fly Jacob home with him and Charlee stayed a extra night with Mamos and Papa so the drive was a TON easier than it could have been. Charlee would of made the drive a lot longer and a lot louder. My parents said she took 2 hours to settle down and go to sleep after I left. Jacob had a low blood sugar and needed food, so thank goodness he went with Brian.

BTW I as a Fuddy Dud! Always go!!!!! And yes most of the time it is a ton of work but it works out well and we all have fun!
Watch for Chapter 2 "Our family Vacation in Alpine WY."

I guess that makes me a fuddy dud too! I hate doing things spur of the moment. I am a prepare freak and not knowing I have everything I may need drives me crazy! You are a good sport. Once Brad drags me there we always have a good time, but getting me to go and in a good mood is really hard for him.
