My parents have wanted to get the family together with cousins and everyone for a long time now. It was finally decided that we would try and get together before the annual Reed and Carma Long Reunion. My father sent us a tentative schedule with a huge list of activities. We had to come up late because of swimming lessons and also due to the A1C test that needed to be done.
Some of the events included BIG CHIEF BRASS BUTTONS giving each grandchild a Indian name. Growing up my mother and father always told me that I was adopted from an Indian tribe because I tanned so well while my brother was either white or burnt. We each had Indian names, so this was a fun and special event for me. Big chief brass buttons, dressed in his overalls and full headdress, he called Jacob the eldest grandchild up first. He spoke to him about how he was a leader and how he should always be a good example to his younger brothers, sister, and cousins. My mother painted their faces with war paint and then each in turn the grand kids received their name.

Indian names
Two river's running - Jacob (our fisherman)
Coyote chasing deer - Aiden (self explanatory)
Flying Falcon - Jack (He is everywhere)
Hair like golden Eagle - Leslie (Her Hair)
Little Bear - Charlee (Sugar Bear)
Bluebird Eye - Baby David (Blue blue eyes)
My oldest three boys were told that during this "journey" they must keep absolutely silent in order to become a Indian chief. If they were to speak they would become a Indian brave instead. Off we went on our treasure hunt. My mom read the first clue all in short bold tones, like a good Indian squaw would. The first clue took us to the pond where the boys each found their first prize, an Indian head dress. Each child put it on and then we were off again to the next clue. Everyone was able to find the surprise and hand each one out to each cousin. Next they all received Indian vests, then Indian beads, then Indian tomahawks for the boys and a cute cute doll for Leslie (my mom made) and last the two babies (Charlee and David) each received a cute little Indian teddy bear girl and boy. Last the kids each received a Indian drum and we had a Indian Chief/princess Dance with Big Chief Brass Buttons leading the way.
We also went swimming at the hot pots (Riverdale resort) and Aiden went off the diving board for the first time. They have a awesome water slide that Charlee and the boys couldn't get enough of. We also spent a day at the fun park in Logan. Laser tag with my boys, bowling with the family and then the huge soft play area was all day entertainment. Deer Cliff in for dinner outside up the canyon was a lot of fun too. The boys fished, rode the 4 wheeler (the go cart wasn't done yet), made bike jumps, earned prizes, and had a great time. I downloaded the pictures on Brian's computer so I will post them later.
