For the monogram I sketched an A that I liked and last stitched it on with a tight zig-zag stitch.
Thank goodness for freezer paper.
So with the monogram all finished, and the fabric for the back pieced together it was time to find the perfect place for the monogram.
I am all about direction, matching and uniformity. This quilt I had to go against all of that. I found one strip of jean that was thin and decided the monogram needed to be placed more as a patch.
However the two pockets I left on the jean strips were facing the wrong direction if I put the A at the bottom of the quilt and I couldn't flip the A the opposite direction and have the A at the top of the quilt because, well that is just wrong. So the A was placed as a patch (to hold up for longevity) on the lower left side, making the pockets UP SIDE DOWN!
Finally it was time to find the perfect ORANGE for the binding. I think it turned out great.
