Young in his class...

Having a July birthday is hard on a little boy.  Jack turned 6 this past summer and is in 1st grade, I hear people talk about the fact that he is "young in his class."  I have always felt that he was super smart with a very low level of maturity.  Low level of maturity + boy = SILLY, EMOTIONAL, and NOTHING IS FAIR.

Then you add third child with a Alfa male complex and you get JACK JACK.
I worry about his behavior at school then I remember that he is in 1st grade and that THESE THINGS TOO SHALL PASS.  His 1st grade teachers told us that his behavior was not only a maturity issue, it is a 1st grade issue.  She pointed out that these little people are that, JUST LITTLE and it is common and normal for 1st graders to be a little silly.  I am seeing improvement in Jack already.  The first month of school Jack would be so tired when he arrived home, he would go into his room and sleep.  Now he tells me he just takes a nap at school!  lol
Today as Jack was waiting for his ride to school, he stood on our rocks outside our home, WAITED for EVERYONE TO LOOK, then proceeded to rip open his Velcro Jacket out into a open wingspan while heroically leaping from off the rock wall.  This event made me realize how lucky I am to have him still young and innocent and full of imagination.  What a keeper my little Jack Jack is.
